Is he one of anyone's favorite villains? one of mine and he's a scientist, a gladiator, a villain with brains and one who is ego driven.
If my name wasn't a clue (or the fact that most of my gamer tags are some form of Lord Starscream), yeah he is my all time favorite Transformer. I point to Armada for that, one of the most in depth characters in all of Transformers and one of the few deaths to make my cry. Hell he is just a fun character to watch bumble about like in Animated & Prime in his quest for leadership.
He's better than that crackhead megatron who has no substance in his character other than repeating that stupid world dominatior trope.
He is not my favorite Decepticon as an individual, but I think he really made the original show interesting.
He has always been my favorite Decepticon. I always pick up his figures even if I don't pick up that much of whatever line it is.
If you're going to boil Megatron down to that, then I can just as easily say Starscream has no substance beyond whining about how he should be in charge.
Love Starscream. As a kid I thought he was a little annoying, but as an adult I have a real appreciation for his ambition and eventual betrayal.
My fav dude. G1 Starscream is the most hilarious, Armada's Starscream was heartbreaking, Energon's Starscream was heartbreaking for all the wrong reasons, Cybertron's Screamer was back to G1, Animated Screamer was more competent, Aligned Starscream was finally badass, IDW Starscream was interesting but inconsistent, Dreamwave Screamer was not memorable, and Prime Wars Screamer was a giant head thingy.
I loathed him as a kid. My favorite moment in TF:TM was when he was turned to ash. My disappointment when he was brought back as a ghost in season 3 outweighed all the other problems that S3 had at the time. Nowadays I've warmed up to him quite a bit. I like the original full profile and his depiction in Prime was one of the better characters in that show.
Although the overuse of Optimus and Megatron does get annoying to me, Starscream doesn't get old for me. The main reason why he's my favorite character in Transformers lore is because... well... you need someone to be the butt of most of the jokes. I mean, yes, there have been more sympathetic versions and versions that play more on the menace, but what I like most about Starscream is the fun of seeing him be humilliated and embarrassed in front of his peers. I always saw him as a robotic version of Jack Benny's on-screen persona (narcissistic, egotistical, easily frustrated when things don't work his way and somewhat of a coward when things get too tense for him), and I love Jack Benny, so it's inevitable that I'm a big Screamer fan. Though one sad factor is that, personally, the only actor who perfectly embodies the character is Christopher Collins, and unfortunately, ever since his passing, lots have done impressions of him or done different things while keeping the essence, but no one will ever be able to match or surpass him in the role. So yeah, kind of sad that the one person who pulled the role off isn't with us anymore, but what a wonderful performance he left us.
