Holloman airmen line up for Hollywood fame
    Staff report
    Posted : Friday Aug 22, 2008 17:05:33 EDT

Hollywood has returned to Holloman Air Force Base in southern New Mexico.

Last week, hundreds of airmen showed up for a movie casting call at the base.

No one will say what movie the airmen were needed for, but all indications point to the sequel of 2007’s “Transformers.”

Parts of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” are set to be filmed in Alamogordo, N.M., home to Holloman. Scenes from the first “Transformers” were shot at Holloman in 2006 and featured aircraft such as the CV-22 Osprey and MH-53 Pave Low.

“About 200 people will be hired as extras to portray military members,” Maryellen Aviano, extras casting coordinator for DreamWorks Pictures, said in an Air Force news release.

Airmen were more than happy to spend off-duty time in front of a camera.

“The thrill of knowing I may be in a movie outweighs the possibility of having to work long hours on a movie set,” said Airman 1st Class Karla Jimenez, 49th Civil Engineer Squadron.

Nothing here gives any indication that Thundercracker, Skywarp and Ramjet will be in the movie. The only two aircraft mentioned where also in the first movie... And not jets.

It already been stated that the pictures of the airplanes are from an air show. Those other planes are NOT Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Ramjet. Do not create more threads on this issue, as you have now been told in three threads about the authenticity of that picture.
