I recently bought star wars the complete saga on blu ray. I think it is an awesome set. I was wondering if anyone else has watched star wars in blu ray at all. Does anyone think it has a good picture quality. Do you think it is better than the dvds. Does anyone own star wars.

idk personally, i am waiting for disney's unaltered blurays this christmas. while i like some of the alterations, all that cg just bothers the hell out of me, in the original trilogy. it is just fine with the prequels though.

I have the complete saga, but I've only watched the OT (and the OT extras).

Picture and sound are great, but I'm also holding out hope for an un-edited, de-specialized, blu-ray set.

It's false. Disney has never confirmed that the unaltered OT is being released this Christmas or anytime soon for that matter.

if anyone that owns the complete saga blu ray set. Do you think there is a difference in the picture quality between the blu rays and the dvd that were released years ago.

The BluRays are better than the DVDs from 2005. They got rid of the stupid Luke scream when he let himself fall down the shaft in Cloud City. They added a ROTS "NOO!!!!" to Vader in ROTJ so that sucked. We really need some OOT BluRays.

I mean obviously Blu-Ray will have better picture quality, but I'll take my unedited OT DVDs over my Blu-Ray set any day of the week.

Still rockin' a dusty set of VHS tapes of the regular, original OT. I'd like to upgrade to blu ray, but I'm not interested in the special editions.

Have you seen Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Editions? Excellent picture quality. V2.5 is a godsend. Worth checking out if you haven't already.

I watched he empire strikes back on my blu ray and I swear there is hardly a difference in the picture quality from the 2004 dvd.

The image does not look any sharper in the empire strikes back. the lightsabers background does not look any sharper at all.

Well... there is the answer. Dynex. The OT is marvelous on Blu in terms of audio/video.
