What's the difference between Disney/Ultimate vs Black Series. From what I read its just the hilt is plastic vs metal? Black Series has a stand? Anything else? All sounds and motion sensor the same? How about the blades. The old Force FX had removable blades which was a cool feature. Too bad black series doesn't have that.

The Black Series is essentially the Force FX line. Metal hilts, motion sensors, etc.

The Disney one is essentially the same as the Ultimate FX line. Plastic hilts, motion sensors, etc. Only extra feature is that it has a locking effect in the blades when you put pressure on the main blade against something. That feature alone is awesome for a $30 saber as opposed to the Ultimate FX sabers which costs $40 at TRU and have no locking effect.

Not all Force FX sabers have removable blades. The majority of the first sabers that were released did not have removable blades. That feature came later.

So only difference between Disney and BS is plastic vs metal hilt and BS comes with a stand? Are the blade length the same? How about blade material. You got me thinking of getting a lightsaber. :)  But trying to see if the extra $100 justifies BS vs Disney.

BS/FFX blades are much longer than UFX/Disney Kylo.

Disney Kylo blades are red plastic while BS is clear like all FFX ones.

Basically BS/FFX are for adult collectors (don't really want to be dueling with those and are more for display or twirling around) and UFX/Disney ones are the best qualityfor kids. But they're still good enough for adults to duel with.

Either way, your chances of finding the Kylo Ren BS/FFX saber are pretty slim right now.

Speaking of Kylo Ren's Force FX lightsaber, Gamestop is taking their sweet assed time with my order. ARGH.

Cool thanks. I'm actually more interested in the Vader one (which I know is not out yet for BS). Shorter and colored (red) blade is a bit disappointing for the UFX/Disney ones. I like the powered down look when it's clear.

Yeah, the red blades are a new thing for that class of sabers, I think.

I think the did that because you can't see the red light in highly lit places. So the red plastic still makes it look like it's on if you're using it during the day.

It was $150 as opposed to Kylo's $200 too but I'm adhering to a strict red blades only rule. :lol

The Kylo Ren Force FX saber just popped up on Amazon in stock for $168. It was eligible for their $25 off $100 promo (matching Target), so I just nabbed it for $150 shipped after tax.

I might have got the last one and it was up and gone in a flash, but maybe worth keeping an eye on for restocks. it actually still shows in stock from the main product page (which usually lags behind their actually inventory though if you try to order). I saw the Vader and Yoda at TRU. I already have a MR Vader. Was tempted by Yoda's but decided to only stick with red.
