I watched some, skipped through it a bit. Very thorough, fair review. And my god, the pricing was out of control.
The dinner theater with a “view” was hilarious.
Loved how they were going to stiff her for a $200 droid that got lost in shipping until they realized she was a TikTok personality.
The mysterious cargo hold was just sad. I can just imagine people getting in there & sitting on one of the crates, looking all sullen like, “No… there has to be something else here. This can’t be it…”

Yeah. That hotel deserved to fail. Absolute ripoff & not worth the money.

It cost more to spend less than two days in a concrete bunker where you half-heartedly LARP being a cruise line passenger and be strongly recommended that you participate in the public events...

...than it did to actually spend like, a WEEK on an actual cruise ship under Disney's own cruise ship brand where you could do whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted, and actually enjoy a vacation.

I’m a very indoor guy but seeing stuff like that makes me realize that yeah, I really would go nuts staying indoors all the time!

The added kicker is that everything about the Galactic Starcruiser, aside from the fact you spend two nights in it...all the gimmicks and whatnot originally were meant to be part of Galaxy's Edge. The stuff with the smartphones, having dinner theatre, etc. etc. it all got gutted and made into a grossly overpriced separate attraction.

And remember that Disney thought this was the better investment to come out of the pandemic with instead of, y'know, the giant TRON coaster that took them five years to build...and wasn't even a brand new design but a clone from one of the parks in Asia!

Not to mention that on a real cruise line, you actually get to GO SOMEWHERE FOR REAL.

Idk if anyone else in this thread has tickets to Celebration Japan next year (or if you’re even interested), but the anime studios and manga artists from Star Wars Visions will have an exhibition at the convention: x.com

I can safely say that it WILL be on my itinerary! Please have prints <3

I've seen at least a good chunk of the video which does a good job explaining how and why the cruiser went down the way it did. Really also sadly showcases Disney's massive hubris and ego that it developed over the years that's ding a lot to destroy the good will and faith of everyone that supported it in general not just SW fans. Methinks that if Disney keeps on this self destructive path and not make much needed amends, we'll likely see all of the ego and greed being the company's downfall in another decade at least if not sometimes this decade.

Such a terrible idea. But what I really wonder about is what happened to that lightsaber. If they don’t eventually sell the special lightsaber then they’re really missing out.

I was never going to go to the hotel. Being locked in for two days, having to pay for that “privilege” more than the cost of the whole trip? No way. My amazing wife asked me if I wanted to go and I said no. For the cost of the stay I can take the family on a Disney World vacation for a week.

Forgot to mention- love the segment about the room, and how it’s less than half the size of a comparably priced room on Disney’s own cruise liner, Wish.
The LED-lined “space window” that’s basically like sleeping with the tv on right next to your face- did no one actually sleep in a room prior to opening to test out the effect?
The tiny ass safe room might be the worst though. In case of fire or emergency, here’s this tiny, tiny closet that fits one person from the look of it. So if you’re sharing a room, you’ll have to draw straws to see who gets the safe room. And the rest will have to try and find the actual emergency exits.

The interactive mini games like hacking cargo crates that do nothing except (maybe) beep at you afterwards is just sad.

The food looked decent at least.

I’m sure the whole experience was vastly different for the cast members, and I certainly feel for them having to interact constantly & memorize hours of dialogue.

But Jenny’s review from a page ago really shows the faults in the experience. She seems like the kind of person that this thing was designed for, who knows exactly what to expect going in, who has a lot of experience hitting theme parks & such, who was very proactive and engaged with the story as much as possible, and it didn’t deliver.

    Jesus. No kidding:

No, Screenrant, anyone who followed the news knew it wasn't "just a hotel." Knowing exactly what it was was why it seemed like such a bad deal!

Meh… they’ll just attribute it to some “ism” or blame climate change.
