At the end of Episode 3, Yoda tells Obi Wan that he has some special training for him, that he'll teach him how to commune with Qui Gon. Setting things up for how Obi Wan was able to return as a Force Ghost. We also saw Yoda teaching an entire group of Younglings at the Jedi temple, so it's possible Obi Wan also had some training under him, prior to becoming a Padawan to Qui Gon.

Mark Hamill's accident happened in January 1977, while the first Star Wars movie came out in May that same year. So yeah, when they returned to film Empire, the Wampa scene was likely written as a way play up where the scars came from.

I don’t. His appearance is fine, but the lines are stupid. George was obsessed with spelling everything out in dialogue.

In-story, Yoda was a master to Obi-Wan when he was a youngling and when he went into exile in Tatooine.

In real-life, it was probably because Lucas didn’t come up with the character of Qui-Gon at the time of ESB. The end of ROTS was probably written to make TPM and ESB make sense continuity wise.

Making Star Wars was super reliable during 2015-ish, but they've been questionable in recent years.

If true, I think it sounds interesting. Setting it 400 years ago (instead of a thousand or so) would let them include a younger Yoda, which could help form a connection to the OT. I just hope they don't overuse nostalgic stuff. I'd be fine with just Yoda and...lightsabers. I'm going to explode if they find a way to work in X-Wings, Tie Fighters, Stormtroopers, or even The Falcon. This is the chance to really do something new and out-there, I hope they take advantage of the setting.

The scene was storyboarded, but it was not put into any cut of the film.

It did appear in comics though. In both Legends and Canon Hobbie flew his snowspeeder into Veer's AT-AT. In Legends Hobbie survived. In Canon he died.

And now it's turning to Star Trek, except Star Wars did move forward before going backwards again.

In AotC we see that Ypda teaches the younglings (in a group). The idea is that Kenobi was likewise as child taught by Yoda. Only after a youngling has reached a certain level (and/or age) are they transferred to be the single student from a Jedi Master, and get more experience outside of the temple. This also changes them from youngling tot padawan.

Other way around. Palpatine in ESB was originaly a woman mixed with a chimpansee (eyes). McDarmid wasn't cast until RotJ (and only then after the intended actor got sick). For the Special Editions and again during filming of RotS, Lucas asked McDarmid to film some (new) scenes resulting in him being in ESB as the Emperor.

That's not in the movie? Reading the novels for years also put memories in my head of things that happened but weren't actually in the movie. I also still think Luke was Blue Five and did two attack runs on the Death Star, and I also remember scenes on the Death Star that were only in the novels.

Well, technically speaking, Anakin Skywalker is dead. He's Darth Vader now. This is also confirmed in SW:Rebels where he even talks about having killed Anakin Skywalker.

Rumour is indeed that Hamill was in big accident between ANH and ESB, had corrective surgery and that the Wampa scene was included to explain the change in his features. It must've been a hell of an accident, because Hamill claims to not remember anything about it.

Even animals that live full time in icy areas can freeze to death. Why do you think many animals hibernate? Night on Hoth is too cold, so normally Taun Tauns woulkd most like hide somewhere where they were protected from the freezing winds instead or running around in the open.

Correct. Even the Wampa has a cave to take shelter in.

I'm not sure if this will start a flame war or not but all the same with the whole Legends vs Canon arguments going on for a while now is there anything in the Disney Canon that were just as well done as some of the best Legends stories if not outright better? If so which ones are they are why?

    They're popular, OK.

Whether a character one-shoting and hacking Darth Vader is anything well done or not is another matter...

The writing in it can be a poster child for a term "fanfic" used in a derogatory manner.
