Well, after his Fail Trek movies I'm not terribly surprised.

The only thing that was robbed from that day was people’s time. I don’t want to watch the rehashed ot trilogy we got now and an EU that ultimately didn’t went anywhere beyond the ot universe.

 

1. Lucas had his own treatments before he started collaborating on a story with Arndt. So the whills or the Force eaters controlling the midichlorians could have been part of those treatments and not his collaborative idea sessions.

2. He said his story would've explored the microbiotic stuff, but that isn't a plot any more than midichlorians, the chosen one, and the Living Force are a plot. Even in the collaborative story effort, that could all have been a bit of world building that didn't figure strongly into the big plot points.

 

I don’t think the whills were going to be the plot, simply explored as part of the story, the way the force isn’t the plot of the OT but explored throughout it.

 

What is all this talk of whills and microbiotics? Makes me feel I am attending microbiology lessons again instead of discussing SW.  

Ah thanks. I suspected so. Lucas just wanted everyone to believe he really had ideas for prequels even way back then, something I always doubted.

 

Or maybe he did have a plan but he wanted to make sure his movie was a hit before he proceeds with the complete story he had in mind. And give him credit for making his 1 shot a self-contained movie unlike the many failed movies of today that focused on setting up their sequels instead of focusing on the story they're currently presenting for us.

 

the more i think about it the more TROS feels like it was two movies of content shoved into one.

Some of it does. The bit about the female twi'lek agent who works by seducing people so she can kill them and aims to "corrupt" Anakin Solo just sounds really... ugh. She's perverse and manipulative... ugh. She's based on Darth Talon so she's probably dressed the same... ugh. So much ugh.

I'm not sad to see that character ditched.

 

fun fact, the 501st and Saber Guild costume groups won't approve of Darth Talon cosplayers for the same reason why they won't allow Ben Swolo: LFL don't want to people without shirts at conventions

 

Honestly, that sounds like a great rule. I approve.

If people really want to roleplay as either of those two characters, they can just use some cloth in the appropriate color rather than show skin. I've seen Starfire cosplayers do this to great effect with tights.

 

Darth Talon is one of those ideas, like Emperor Vitiate and Yuuzhan Vong, that are best to not be brough back.

Don't know. He was scheduled to do his own trilogy but apparently, Disney has put forth a statement that they aren't going to do traditional trilogies anymore so I'm not sure if he's still in the plans for something.
