To take it a bit more seriously, these are titles that I'd consider:

Star Wars: Death of the Past
Star Wars: Split of the Force
Star Wars: Revenge of the Order
    Star Wars: The Last Hope
    Star Wars: The Legend Lives

Just rented The Last Jedi and Solo off of Windows Store on my Xbox One. Gonna watch them later tonight to see what I think about them. Wish me luck.

To be perfectly honest, I'm only watching them so I can get caught up for Episode IX. But thanks, I guess.

What I posted is much less about comparison and much more about perspective.

How much more of an explanation are you looking for with regards to the post I responded to? "Last Jedi" envokes what Yoda said to Luke in ROTJ, and also reflects the state of his new order at the time of TLJ, to say nothing of Rey wanting to become his apprentice.

So the "eff you" is where, exactly?

The "return" of the Jedi isn't just about Luke not dying or being turned any more than the Rebel Alliance stands just for defeating the Empire. The entire arc of the OT points toward the new generation (the future) restoring what the previous generation lost or destroyed (from the past). The whole point of Luke and the Rebels winning over the Empire and the Dark Side was for that to happen.

So the first "F U" comes in The Force Awakens when we learn that actually they all failed, on all counts. Then we get a very direct bonus "F U" in The Last Jedi with all the "let the past die" stuff. The title "The Last Jedi" itself refers to the old order coming to an end rather than being restored. That's directly counter to what "return of" was about. That there were almost some new Jedi between episodes doesn't really make an impact one way or the other.

The old order of the Jedi was already dead by ROTJ and was never comming back in its prior form. The Prequels really drove this point home.

TLJ actually does not mean that at all. The Jedi are not dead they are in fact reborn through Luke. It’s the whole end of the movie. The Let The Past Die stuff isn’t the point of anything in the ST, it’s what Kylo the villain says. You should really watch the movie because it does deal with some of the Jedi Dogma that you understand and appreciate. Even if you despise Rian’s portrayal of Luke, Rian does work Luke dealing with the fall of the Jedi and their teachings into the story quite well. Not some fanciful idea of what the Jedi were but what they actually were.
I understand your point that it upends the ROTJ ending. But half of what you are saying is missing major plot points in TLJ. Rey is the real beginning of Luke’s new Jedi Order. And Luke is re-establishing himself as the preeminent Jedi. All of what you want to happen is happening with a Kylo hiccup along the way.
