Maybe to make up for it being readily available back in 2013 or so for $30+(and damn…. that was a great price for it!).

Couldn't have been that easy, it's an all-new figure. I suppose it was a tooling they could reuse down the road, although the man-in-suit design has considerably different proportions from the prequels clones that are all-cgi. With Andor, it's not as toyetic, I am surprised we got what we did - it fared better than TROS. I am not saying they shouldn't do more, but I'm glad they're not pulling an OWK and giving us figures that seem toyetic that nobody wants just because Master Mouse demanded it.

Didn’t Andor only get 4 TVC figures? I wouldn’t say it fared better than TROS, it got 6 or 7 figures IIRC.

I suppose, I think of it more in scale as TROS has a ton more major characters that didn't get done, that movie was advertised heavily, it cost several fortunes, and it's missing some pretty heavy hitters. In terms of action-style major characters that could be made into figures, Andor had less opportunities than TROS yet TROS has only a handful of TVC. Me, I couldn't care less about buying TROS figures, Andor is far more my thing, but I'm more surprised for TROS fans that the ratio there is 4:7.

Well, figures of most of them already existed even if they didn't get updated for TROS. Andor has many major characters that didn't get any TVC figures at all. At the very least: Luthen, Mon Mothma, Syril, Bix, Dedra, and B2EMO. So from that perspective I would say Andor fared worse than TROS, but I agree with you that Andor wasn't as toyetic.

You may know this but Andor's budget was about half that of TROS, which is crazy considering there's no chance it earned Disney that much in subscription fees, sadly.

FWIW, regardless of the timing or that it’s on an Andor cardback, the Andor Clone Trooper is the definitive V2. They never need to redo the body again. Just change up the helmets and gear for the V1 and commanders, etc. Call it a day and throw it on AOTC and ROTS cardbacks. Just happy to have it - and a few more when the thing hits Amazon.

If you guys are curious on @Lazerwave's pickups, here is a review on the entire wave from a retailer up here in Canada.

I have no idea how the distribution works for North America, but the general public will get them eventually.

I can't believe it is still available. Guess I could have waited to see if I could add enough for free shipping.

I hear ya, though I'm not sure I need another of that-era Mon Mothma, it's not like the previous one did well, and I doubt I'd want Syril, Bix, maybe not even Dedra either. Luthen would be a great figure but would probably suffer the way that TBS version does, they should have added rotation below the elbow to alleviate the "wings" issue. B2EMO should have been done day one, luckily Disney Parks did one in this scale that's pretty great because Hasbro just passed on it.

Meanwhile, not that I'd buy all of them, but:
    • TROS Palpatine,
    • Finn (who has zero TVC figures somehow, the 3.75" Black Series Jakku version is all that character gets),
    • Poe (again, the only version is the X-wing pilot outfit),
    • old Lando,
    • Leia,
    • Jannah,
    • unhelmeted or repaired-helmeted Kylo Ben,
    • Hux,
    • Pryde,
    • evil 3PO
Most of them aren't just action or military but they're characters on the film's poster and fans don't have figures of them yet, that's nuts. I thought the movie was dogwater and I'd still get a few of those.

I hadn't heard Andor cost so much, but for the first time in a long time, it was worth it.

Deciding which of the POTF mail-aways to get first: Stormtrooper Han or Ghost Obi-Wan?

Stormtrooper Han was the harder figure to get because you had to eat cereal. I had enough proof-of-purchases to order two, they lost the second one. Ghost of Obi-Wan got reissued in a cinema scenes 3-pack so it's a lot easier to get.

True, though the Cinema Scenes 3-pack sounds like it has some differences, most notable being a more opaque consistency rather than being straight see-through.

Although, Stormtrooper Han sounds better after reading this from the Jedi Temple Archives:
    Is that true?

in the sense there was an original Kenner Luke Stormtrooper figure but never a Han version

the body styles aren't really the same, with the Han coming from the bulky, bodybuilding style of the early 90s figures...its not as noticeable with the armor but it isn't like Luke's

as far as the fandom thing, it was always there

The differences on the Ghost Obi-Wan aren't really enough to give a fart about, I promise you.

Stormtrooper Han indeed kicked off POTF2, hell, when I ordered him I didn't even know there was a POTF2 coming, and boy did that ruin my life finding out :lolol
