That TVC Vader is kinda neat. Overall I didn’t see anything I really want, though. The Endor Rebel trooper looks decent…but it it’s not really generating much excitement with me.
Not a bad showing from TVC! Piett has a really cool card back so I’ll probably pick him up, and ROTJ Vader is looking pretty good too (although I have the Dark Times version so I can probably skip on it)
Found screenshots of everything on Toy Ark. Star Wars Brand Livestream for Feb 2022 – TVC, Black Series, Retro ROTJ40 and More! I'm surprised nobody made the joke of the Admiral Piett can be sold as Captain Piett remold. Edit: I'm probably going to grab the Vader, Phase 2 Trooper, 212th builder set, and Piett. Then wait patiently for the 2024 Obi-Wan vs. Vader set. With all the Retro reveals I think I'm good to stop here with collecting them and the "prototype" exclusives.
Mediocre start to the 40th anniversary of ROTJ. Its the intelligent and safe route to go with Vader. The face of the franchise will always sell. Imo not reissueing original ROTJ vintage figures with the retro collection is stupid, how many people actually want BOBF figures in the retro line, BOBF figures should be made for the vintage line. The Mando Starfighter is a decent TVC vehicle, would of been great if the Imperial Shuttle reissue or Haslabs was announced. Sad fact the Joe team will probably release more excitement about Joe today then the SW and TF teams combined.
Wonder if that ROTJ red poster Vader has any new tooling or if it’s just a reuse or the 2015 mold. Meanwhile, TVC ROTJ Vader looks like it has new tooling and looks good so far. Starkiller looks like it uses old tooling.
I was hoping we'd have as many faces on the Endor trooper as we did on the Hoth troopers, and I'm a little disappointed to see they didn't include the other style of backpack (it's the same as the Hoth one, so they should already have a mold for it). Maybe they were just cutting back to keep it from being a deluxe? Oh well. Still in for a few.
Could probably find them searching through news sites for past streams.. Yakface might even be keeping one, I think I've seen before a list they maintain of all upcoming figures. But off the top of my head, can't find/remember one for sure immediately. But I do know some stuff like season 2 Omega (how did they not capitalize on Bad Batch airing now showing them today??) and Krrsantan are still outsanding, but that's since I was waiting for them personally.
This stream is the 2023 version of Toy Fair for SW, here is what I would of done. 40th Anniversay of ROTJ: 1- Convention Vader 2- eight to ten ROTJ BS figures 3- eight to ten ROTJ TVC figures 4- reissue A-Wing and Tie Bomber 5- provide hints of either a Haslabs or reissued Imperial Shuttle. 6- Scout Trooper helmet Clone Wars: 1- eight to ten TVC figures 2- four to eight BS figures 3- clone trooper army builder set Retro line: 1- the BOBF figures 2- ten vintage ROTJ figures Disney + series: 1- the N1-Starfighter 2- all the other figures 3- give hints that a possible Bad Batch shuttle or Ghost haslabs for TVC.
Whatwhatwhat? What'd I miss? Malgus? I somehow missed that slide... I will do things for more SWTOR Black Series figured. Untoward things. Also, Starkiller in Black Series plz. Thanks,
Just watched the SW Stream. These guys really suck at this. No energy. Its like they just dont care. Nothing interesting to offer. They gave me the impression that they just want to move on to another project.
I have a feeling their hands are tied by the powers that be (whoever they are). If these guys had the freedom to operate however they like, I suspect things might be different. I could be wrong and maybe they are just deadbeats who don’t give a shit…but I’d think Hasbro would realign the team if that were the case.
Possibly. All I can say is - If theyre intention was to have me wanting for more, then mission accomplished.
I feel the same way about him as I did the Rebel Hoth trooper. No desire to army build but I will get at least 1 for now. Hopefully that Vader is also in BS and I may even pickup the TVC one as a 1 off.
I did get the Hoth Rebel trooper…actually I think I got two of them. This new Endor guy just isn’t giving me the same feels, though. Maybe it’s just because he’s aesthetically simpler or something…not sure. I will likely cave in and get one, though. I wasn’t sold on the Hoth guy until I saw him in-person.
Probably just because he feels less versatile than the Hoth trooper, who came with more stuff at the same price. I honestly expected this one to be a deluxe with all that he could have come with, but I'm happy to see him at the regular price point. I do hope those knees get some more colour to hide that grey showing at full extension, though. I suppose we'd also need the camo jacket/duster versions as well if we were trying to get all the types represented. It's still a great start.
Agreed on all points. It’s not a bad figure…just needs a little more flavor. Or, give us what they have now and keep the price reasonable. People probably don’t want to army build too many $33 figures!
As it stands we can only reasonably build out about 2 maybe 3 members of the Endor strike team. The figure would need another release with more features, darker skin, mustache, etc..
