Yeah, it has some pretty strange design choices, especially with the proportions. We've come a long ways in 20 years!

I'm glad I got it though, I have a lot of good 3.75 R2s so it's cool to get some that are a little weird!

Thanks! I've noticed a few things on the Kenner card backs that look a little off, like ROTJ Boba Fett's very, very fake legs xD

I actually would've preferred the orange card back on the new TVC Boba since it cuts the legs out of the frame:

Woo! FedEx just dropped this bad boy off. Only a small crease in the card but I don't mind it (the plastic is a bit scuffed as well). But at least it isn't completely destroyed!

They look so much better in hand, don't they? I do wish all the cards were this beefy. Mine actually started to straighten itself out from an almost 90° bend on the corner. Soft bend, not creased, but I was still surprised to come back later and find it a little better.

Yeah, this thing is awesome! I can't believe that I managed to get one from Target AND they shipped it. I absolutely love the card being thicker than normal as well.

The lightsaber-launching R2 was arguably a fun toy, though. Yeah, the third leg didn't retract, but I used to launch that lightsaber to Luke during many of his adventures.

it's less that it doesn't retract and more that it's horribly oversized that really makes the design choice here very odd...probably no way around it if they had to fit the launcher and the whole length of the blade inside but I bet if they revisted the idea today they might come up with something like a finger-flick missile that can be launched through friction up through the dome instead of having to put a mechanism into the third leg...

speaking of that third leg, I wish they made that alternate look for R2 where Kenny Baker was inside and you could see the corrugated rubber tubing connecting the legs to the body that allowed him to stand inside with his legs disguised...at least one Japanese model kit has optional parts that allow for that look...

Kenny Baker was a champ for wearing a hot metal box in Tunisia.

This is the figure we need and deserve. It would be awesome for a BTS line with removable costume pieces to see the people behind the masks!

Looks like he's going in and out of stock so just keep the tab open if you can and refresh occasionally.

Very nice cape. Anywhere in particular I should be looking to source something similar?

That's a beautiful setup! I'll bet you can't wait for them to finally get some super battle droids going. Always nice seeing clones & clankers!

I overpaid for the cape on eBay, so I don't exactly recommend that unless you're as desperate as I was :lol

Fair enough! Seems like the sort of thing I shouldn't have trouble with anyhow. Not everything has to cost an arm and a leg. Even a sample of the right fabric would give me plenty to work with. Thanks for the reply!
