“One of these is not like the others...” x)

Making these guys stand is worse than arranging dominos...I don’t know if its the rubbery like plastic.

*Drats, I forgot to take pictures of my Phrase II clones...I’ll do it another day...

From left to right: ANH, ESB, ROTJ

I never thought I’ll see the day when I’ll choose a Hasbro figure over a Bandai figure but I prefer the soft goods, heft and bulkiness of the former.

I’m was really happy with my Imperial collection until Shin pointed out the improvements on the newer Stormtrooper...

Looks nice dude! Do you know if its bigger than an average “Galaxy of Adventures” figure? Its ok if you don’t...as I may get some of the ToyBox Stormtroopers.

I only have one, but I lost it. But Galaxy Adventure toys I believe are smaller than these.

Material is what killed a lot of it for me. SHF ANH Vader and Ben have PVC for the robes which killed a lot of the leg poseability overall. Black Series ANH Ben has restricted lower body articulation as well. The disparity is more evident between BS ANH Vader and the SHF ANH Vader. ANH Vader gets points for the wired cape and butterfly joints(but that open gap to enable them is very distracting, you’ll barely see it in pics but in person it’s way more obvious).

Agreed, totally agreed. I was so disappointed when one of my buddies opened his SHF ANH Obi Wan...it felt like a plastic cone...having the lower robes killed the leg articulation of ANH Obi Wan for me.

I was so disappointed that mine remains unopened. Tbh I was so tempted by the latest SHF Vader but when I saw that the lower robe was PVC...I totally lost interest...

It’s interesting that they kept it PVC despite going soft goods for the cape, the PVC not only hinders poseability(good luck having Vader kneel before the Emperor without having that robe bent out shape over time), it looks out of place with the rest of the figure.

It does help with the ANH/ESB BS figures, Hasbro made it a point to make a new design from the ground up, instead of reusing their buck from the ROTJ BS Vader(which I thought was a fun figure for its time due to the removable helmet/mask).

Yeah, it felt so strange for Bandai to use PVC for the lower part and I agree...it looked so weird.

Reminds me of some Bandai’s poor design choices with their other SHF figures.

With regards to the Hasbro Vader...again, I agree with you. Tbh I was very worried that Hasbro would reused the ROTJ Vader’s body for ANH and ESB...the helmet was off, the cape didn’t “flow” properly and that huge metal chain...

I really hope they redo the ROTJ Vader for the movie’s anniversary. Instead of having a removable helmet, they should use a swappable head.

I’m also hoping we get a DSII Luke with butterfly joints too.

I was worried about the same thing. So glad Vader has been improved twice since(though the Walgreens emperors wrath Vader was slightly improved over the regular ROTJ Vader as well). Looking forward to a better ROTJ Vader from Hasbro.
Yes! This is needed, hopefully with a black cloak as well to mirror appearances elsewhere. Could also use a barbell neck.

I wonder how big the reveals are this week. Because I think they may have to have big ones due to Toy Fair being cancelled.

Yeah, I almost pulled the trigger on the Emperor’s wrath Vader because of the improvements but decided to stick to my rule of “no special” variants rule...abit regretted that decision because that meant I skipped on Force Ghost Obi Wan and Yoda...

Speaking of Obi Wan, I hope we get a face printing version along with Qui Gon one day...

According to one of my “sources”, there should be. But then they could hold them for another time.

That has happened a few times. Example, a few years back I was told there would be battle droids, Dooku etc but they weren’t announced until later.

Other examples included Marvel Legends like the 80th Anniversary waves (Cap, Thor etc) and X-men waves.

Nice collection! If I had known that the Mandalorian series would be so enjoyable, I would have started collecting them from the beginning...who would thought that the faction would literally re-ignite interest in SWs for many of us (at least in my part of world).

Told my kids back then the only information we got was from the comics...heck, Jango and Boba at one stage weren’t considered Mandalorians if I recall? Could be wrong on that.

For me, Mafex Rogue One Vader is it. Hard to photograph but here's two with and without flash. Head sculpt is on the money. 20210124_194608.jpg 20210124_194344.jpg

A reasonably bright side despite some swing and misses at other characters that showed as in stock on popfindr, brickseek AND target handhelds...
    20210124_090747.jpg

And of course, the time gamestop does NOT have them at 30% off, is when I'm at a store I rarely visit and they have all four sets...

    Patience, I must have.

I agree that the Mafex Rogue One Vader is good - I have the earlier version (I think its ROTJ or ESB). Maybe one of the better Vaders out there but the mixture of soft goods and plastic (for the lower robes) killed it for me.

That’s sick man - in a good way of course! I wished Jar Jar had a less stoic face sculpt and a slight smile.
