The Carbonized guys are just shiny versions of the normal releases. The Mandalorian one is only available at Target (Star Wars The Black Series Carbonized Collection The Mandalorian Toy Figure (Target Exclusive)). Huh, apparently one is available 30 minutes from me.
Force Friday is a truly brilliant marketing scheme — get consumers to spend their money before seeing the entertainment and not wanting the characters.
Carbonized Sith Trooper and SDCC Sith Trooper. Man those SDCC weapons are a pain to get anyone to hold.
Geez man that's crazy. Biggs' X-Wing at TRU was already pushing it at $50 years ago and this Luke X-Wing is the exact same toy with new paint. I know if these new X-wings sink, Hasbro will use it as ammo to kill off the 3.75 scale altogether for Star Wars(if the latest rumors are to be believed) but if so they did themselves in. The target demographic, the audience to support these 3.75 Vintage Collection figures and vehicles are the fans that always supported their efforts prior to the Black Series. They aren't new to the scale and it's become progressively harder to justify the exponentially increasing costs. $13 for a VC figure, okay, compared to $10 to 2010 for a VC figure, is nowhere as bad as $100 for Luke's X-wing, a mere repaint of the same X-wing mold used for Biggs which went for $50+. Poe's VC X-wing with all its new bells and whistles, should've only been $60 at most. Maybe the Disney licensing costs are higher than thought. Who knows.
I could've possibly justified $100 if it had R2D2 instead of a gaping hole and laser light and sound FX. But this is just so bare, it's like they're daring us to pass so they can rub it in our faces later. And it would've been even _worse_ if pilot Luke hadn't lucked into the concurrent figure assortment.
I lost my job a few weeks ago, so my Force Friday couldn’t be as grand as I had wished, but Gamestop came through and I got Fox and Carbonized Sister. Very satisfied.
That metallic deco really improves the figure to my eyes, the "standard" red one pales in comparison standing next to it. I was able to order the Amazon version as well as the SHF version, and now I have no plans to get the regular version.
Yeah, the regular one lacks the definition that the Carbonized one has. It pops more and shows off the details better. I'm still happy with both and because I'm stupid, I will also be getting the regular release of it.
One Walmart around me didn't get new Star Wars items except that remote control D-o droid. They put it automatically on clearance for $30. Figured I'll get it and if I like him in the film, ill keep it.
Went to a Target that still says it has the Mandalorian in stock, but it looked like nothing new was even out on the shelves. Dude actually checked their stock and only one store had it, but it was Waaaaay too far to justify the drive. Then I went into a GameStop, and they had all the new figures, but the Carbonated version pops so much that it got me interested in the figure, so I passed.
These new Galaxy of Adventures figures are actually quite nice. I think I would have preferred the ones they made previously in this design, instead of just re-packing Force Link figures without the Force Link.
Went to a GameStop. They were nice enough to check and call a few stores. No Fox’s around and I’m not wasting my time trying. It will be available for cheaper from Dorkside or I just won’t get it.
Just picked up this from Gamestop, they only had Carbonized but a 2nd sister is a second sister We need more Sith, heck at this point I want Clone Wars Darth Sidious How have we not gotten Darth Tyranus Matter fact what about all the other Sith and Dark Force users ugh
i ordered the carbonized sister off Gamestop's website and ordered the Mandalorian from Amazon yesterday morning. I didn't get out to any stores until today, but I scored the Jet trooper, Sith trooper, Cal and Rey at Walmart this morning. I found a Gamestop in Florida that still had a commander Fox and talked my father in law into picking it up for me.
I imagine they have to go through Lee's estate to get his likeness for Dooku. But hopefully someday. I guess they're going to do a RotS Sheev figure eventually, because otherwise why wouldn't they have put Sidious' saber in with such a full featured release?
So many Sith and Jedi not being made and I wonder why, they're the biggest draw to the Mythos, I'd also kill for a Star Killer in regular and Sith Stalker armor, how are we getting figures of the new SW game but havent gotten him? I swear I hate Hasbro logic at times
