I'll be interested to see the mix of old and new designs once we start getting movies that take place during the OT era. That means they'll probably have to remake Stormtrooper costumes that look more or less the same as they did back in the old movies.

I think it's a good thing they're doing something with its designs.

That's not true, Optimus and Ironhide were identical in the first two movies, Ironhide even into the third. Wheelie stayed the same, Brains, Barricade, etc.

No, go back and compare, the designs have been changed. The differences are kinda subtle, but recogniziable the robot-modes are much more solid looking than in the first. Which is something the production crew even pointed out since that was one of the big complaints from fans back then.
Sure they're minor, but so were the differences of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man costumes, and those redesigns cost $25,000.

    That doesn't "reveal" anything.

It was even in the news here quite often. This is actually well known. I don't care for the movies and still know that.

I interpreted that as a facist group formed by the remaining Storm Troopers and changed their looks and still follow their "cause".

So, simply put, Neo-Nazi's with a bit of flare.

Are you saying neo-nazis don't have flare? Cause that's just not true.

No. It would just come off as a cheap "lets make whiny fanboys happy for no reason" tactic. Same as the whole 'guy kills clone Boba and takes his armor' just so 40 year olds can have 'their' Boba back.

What's next, Empire gets a super weapon & goes to Endor to wipe out the Ewoks because a lot of fans hate them?

Of course this is the same fandom that still bitches (for almost 20 years) about a .5 second change that doesn't alter the story.

A-freaking-men. Just don't have Jar-Jar in there. Having him there to die a cruel death is juvenile, hamfisted fanservice. He sucked in TPM, we all know this. Don't include him in there, move on.

That said, under competent writers during The Clone Wars, he could actually be likable.

My younger cousin is a big fan of Jar Jar so showing him dead/killed would probably upset the kids out there who actually like him.

It'd be forced and fanwanky but I'd probably laugh at it.

Not at all. It's unnecessary and it's just pandering to cynicism.

Alright, who wants to bet that this movie either dethrones Titanic or Avatar in box office? If it ends up being really good then it's probably got Titanic at the least.

Assuming it's the most amazing thing we've ever seen where Star Wars is concerned, and it has every chance to be exactly that, I think it's all but a certainty that it'll end up in Titanic's place. Star Wars is one of the few franchises that is globally revered, spans an unprecedented age range and doesn't fall into a category of being "guys movies" or "chick flicks" - all variables in one form or other that can & do affect even the most successful other franchises out there. Star Wars, however, is virtually immune to any of that. So not only do I think it'll definitely hit #3 and could very likely hit #2, I think it'll do so faster than any movie ever has to date. If it makes it to #2 in record time, then yeah, it actually does have a good chance to be the one movie that finally dethrones Avatar for #1 as well.
