During TLJ I think that absolutely was the case but now they've brought JJ back I'm expecting shenanigans on the Skywalker front and we'll be stuck forever.

You said she was a red herring. I guess that’s not quite what you meant then.

Well, it's February now, so I'm guessing the title reveal (and possible teaser) is going to happen in April at SW Celebration.

I don't understand why they're waiting so long for this title reveal. This is the final part of the trilogy, and possibly the conclusion to the whole Saga. You'd think they'd want to start building hype as early as possible. But this is the latest title reveal we've gotten for a Saga movie. (Solo had one later, but skimpy marketing didn't do that movie any favors). I just looked, the Prequels got titles almost a year before they came out.

I guess they think holding out on a title will build anticipation? To an extent that's true, but I think it builds more negative anticipation than positive when it gets this late. It just gives people the feeling that there's something wrong, or that they don't have faith in their movie. People love early reveals. Imagine the hype if they had released a short teaser with the title reveal on Christmas day or something.

I think they are just being cautious after the debacle of The Last Jedi.

I guess, but ironically Last Jedi even had somewhat skimpy marketing (at least in comparison to The Force Awakens). It seems like the opposite of that would be a heavier marketing push for this one, more in-line with TFA's marketing.

    I doubt it.

I can understand waiting to release a trailer, but they should have at least announced the title by now. This JJ Abrams secrecy can really get annoying.

    I asked that too.

    Was told no.

Maybe April or May the 4th?

Could have something to do with the fact that they specifically said they were reconsidering spacing between films after Solo misfired.

Didn't TLJ's first teaser/trailer drop around April before it was released in theaters? I don't remember exactly, but if that's the case then April is only 2 more months away.

They allowed for her to be a distraction to make you think she would be a new skywalker. Maybe I used the term wrong?

Thinking about this movie makes me sad that TLJ has soured me on the franchise so much that I don't really care what the title is or even seeing footage. I just hope the next main trilogy they do is handled a lot better and is way more interesting.

To be fair, Hux to me seems a bigger joke. I mean how the fuck is this guy General? Dind´t they had old Empire era vets to fill their ranks? Even Nazi Germany had WWI veteran generals in their ranks due to a lack of officer cadre.

You know, it’s entirely possible the surviving officer corps of the old Empire all legged it to Space!Argentina to hide and those that Hux and the First Order found and approached took one look at what he was selling, say “Hmmm, no. I danced that fandango once already and it didn’t work out” and go back to slamming down Astral Gateways.

So the rumor making the rounds today is that the title will be 'Balance of the Force'. I really don't see how the rumored title for Episode 1 is the title for Episode 9.

I don't think that's going to be the title. Keep in mind JJ Abrams isn't fond of the prequels, and the whole "balance of the Force" thing was part of the whole prophecy/Chosen One thing (which is generally considered one of the more confusing/convoluted aspects of the Prequels). I really can't see JJ naming his movie after that.

Edit: Especially since Anakin (the guy who was supposed to bring balance to the Force) is gone. Since they didn't go the "reincarnation of Anakin" route with Rey, I don't see why that would even be an issue in this movie.

I feel the same way. No interest in Star Wars right now.

Well that’s not entirely true. Cause you commented. You must have some interest you’re here reading comments and commenting. Perhaps you’re looking for a reason to come back.

I hope that’s not the title cause it’s the most uninspired SW title I’ve ever heard. Revenge of Jar Jar sounds better than Balance of the Budget.
