That pretty much kills any argument that the FO is not simply a rebranded Empire if it quite truly is the same asshole in charge.

Someone told me that this was the plot to Kingdom Hearts. Can someone confirm / deny?

 

When I've thought that Johnson finally put this Capri pants costumes nonsense to end... Adams brought it back.

 

That is two and a half Unicrons, and I could probably kill someone with them more effectively.  

 

Beyond all the main bad guys in Kingdom Hearts (specifically the Xenahort variants) basically being all Sith Lords almost unapologetically to the point of using lightsabers essentially, KH at least gives the bad guy some motivation though it's kind of stupid.

And Xigbar is basically a time traveling Marvel Loki with an eyepatch and a box of some importance nobody knows WHY it's so important.

(Look up the dunkey plot recap of Kingdom Hearts, it's almost 100% entirely true in how batshit it all is).

Star Wars we just have the FO being evil almost just to give Rey an excuse to exist at this point more than any real defined objectives.

 

Over a thousand and a half bucks for a prop that has 99.999% chance of only being seen in a single vision scene induced by Abram's mystery box fetish.

So much for Andy Serkis' claims that Snoke had no connection to The Emperor and he was his own character.

 

Maybe he was. Back then. Before TLJ happened.

 

Heh, considering the absurdly stupid movie-by-movie-basis approach they're taking to a trilogy that's supposed to seamlessly connect together, his claims probably were true back when Johnson was doing his thing. Johnson himself did say he had no plans to ever bring back the Emperor, so that's obviously a "try to fix this mess" idea that Abrams came up with way after the fact.

 

He was his own character when TLJ happened too. Abrams didn't decide to bring Palpatine into the story until after he took over episode IX.

 

You're all right. It probably was true at one point. That tends to happen with a make-it-up-as-you-go style with different story tellers.

 

This trilogy is such an embarrassing mess my god.  

 

Now they have to uncanon the previous Snoke canon.

 

I think calling it canon is being generous. As I remember it, there was a giant new deformed hologram dude barking orders in TFA with zero explanation of who he is or what he does, then the same deformed dude showed up in TLJ, was sitting pretty in a red room barking more orders, claiming to be all knowing and all powerful right before NOT knowing he was about to be sliced in half by the same person he claimed he could control... again with zero explanation of who he is or what he does. Haha I legitimately barely remember he was even IN these at all, let alone what his silly Snuck-a-Snook name was, so they can un-canon him all day long and it won't make any difference.

Then again, I still call all these "memorable" characters Toothy Jedi Chick, Pilot Guy, Ex-Stormtrooper Guy, Ballbot and Goth Vader, so I might not be the best person to make this judgement.

At this point I'm far more interested in the reactions than the movie itself. Like can anything actually kill this movie, will people defend literally anything? I'd expect it to make a billion and be "certified fresh" and all, but who knows anymore after just these past couple years of media.
