and makes sense, since JJ needs extra time to work on the movie, considering he joined just months before they were set to shoot

I am pretty sure that if things had worked with Colin, the movie would've kept its May release date.

Yep. I'd still like a film dropping in May just once to commemorate the anniversary. And then stick to December for good. :lol

I know it seems that way, but I feel like they still would have found a another reason for the December release...

I, personally, would love to watch a Star Wars Episode movie in May again, but Disney has already made December their Star Wars month, so they should stop dicking around and just stick with that.

I never heard that. TFA left her parentage a mystery as far as I am concerned. I remember hearing that it would be addressed in The Last Jedi.

Its possible, but considering this delay happened after Colin left and After they got JJ, it makes more sense they needed more time to work on the movie, especially considering they were supposed to start filming in just a few months, now if the delay had happened when Colin was still on board or when the were filming, then yeah it could've been for another reason.

Now we still have Han Solo in May, so we still can see at least 1 SW movie that month, unless fo course the reshoots last a bit longer to the point they will have to delay.

The only fiction that hinted towards was in the movies novelization, a statement said that they could "sense" each other as cousins. Thats it.

Your logic is sound... but I don't even believe Han Solo will be a May release, until it actually happens. Something always seems to happen.

I think it goes back the previous comments that JJ Abrams peppered the movie with a few mysteries which (like on Lost) were never actually created with an answer in mind. That's just Abrams' way.

Personally I think it's a cheat and why I stopped watching Lost around season 3.

its highly possible, considering what happened with Han Solo delaying it to December or another later date is a logical move, of course we will have to see if Ron Howard is able to finish this movie just in time

FYI -- I moved our Star Wars discussion posts from the Aladdin thread, and dropped them in here. Now we're all on-topic...

Wonder Woman 2 vs Episode IX is gonna be an interesting battle. It may not be that big a deal since there'll be a week between the two, it'll be holiday season, and people who want to see both certainly will.

When Episode IX got announced for May I foolishly believed they would stick with that date though I guess they didn't expect to have a change in directors.

I liked TFA, so I am okay with this.
