This was a special-piece I did for a local fundraiser here recently, that was in fact my first venture into working with EVA-foam. This stuff is amazing, light-weight & fairly easy to work with! The piece is 100% scratch-built out of EVA-foam, pvc & styrene-sheeting, about 17" tall, 12" wide & only weighs a pound. This was made to hang on a wall, and features an optional LED magnetically-attached to the posterior of the badge below the star to illuminate the base & stars behind the badge. The LED can be rotated up or down to illuminate the center star above or base-stars below.

    Various stars on the base were done in random specks of glow-in-the-dark acrylic-paint, so they do in fact glow for a little while after the lights are out.....and oddly enough, when the LED is pointed upwards and shines on the wall, the light just so happens to somewhat-resemble a USS Enterprise Starship....this was a purely unintentional bonus given off by the LED-feature, but kinda cool nevertheless. Black base is done in flat-black, badge was done in metallic-chrome and weathered with translucent acrylic yellow. 1.JPG 2 - Copy.JPG 4.JPG 23.JPG 1.JPG 2 - Copy.JPG 3.JPG 4.JPG 5.JPG 6.JPG 7.JPG 8.JPG 9.JPG 10.JPG 11.JPG 12.JPG 13.JPG 14.JPG 16.JPG 17.JPG 18.JPG 19.JPG 20.JPG 21.JPG 22.JPG 23.JPG 20180410_154203.jpg 20180410_170748.jpg 20180411_233940.jpg 20180412_134336.jpg 20180415_003007.jpg 20180415_003035.jpg 20180415_003144.jpg 20180417_132854.jpg

Thanks! Was a pain workin with that EVA-foam stuff at first, but started havin fun with it eventually, really lookin forward to workin more with it in the near future!

That's exactly why I made it the considerable-size that I did, I wanted it to stand out when you walk in the room and be a substantial center-piece!

Thanks man! I hated to part with this one, but it was for a good cause & went to a lucky Trekky-fan that I'm sure will appreciate & take care of it. Got another very unique 2nd piece on the way that I've been tinkering with using the foam, that I hope to share in the next week or two, and another even bigger one I'll be starting as well. Gonna be an exciting year for new builds!
