Assuming he still has the rights, that would be nice.

The only way that’d happen is some of the extremely handy people in the not-detolf thread build an MP scale Broadside carrier mode in their display floor / apartment.

We don't know how it works there, but the company that runs DS might own the design. They may not own the IP, but it might not be a good idea to to rip them off.

Yeah too big for my space. I’ll go back to the wheels (or lack of wheels) not being a deal breaker.

Unsurprisingly it is a complex mix of national law, international agreements, enforcement practices that may not map well to how common law derived systems work, etc.

Best lay-person overview I can find:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellectual_property_in_China

TL;DR: @Magnusfan Nujevad probably nailed it.

I heard that licensing is definitely a thing in China itself. Basically, You can rip off anything from the West, but hands off of Chinese products

And since both parties would fall under Chinese regulations, legal steps can be taken

I just have the landing gear up and swoosh them around with my hands making laser blast and flight noises... doesn't everybody?

I'm pretty sure such a thing is either too toon accurate or not toon accurate enough for most people to enjoy that simple pleasure.

Is DS and TE the same? I loved the build of the DS Seekers and Blaster. And I will be estatic if the DS company changed into Star Toys.

    Ebay:
    Youtube (New):
DS & TE - same designer, same factory

Star Toys - same designer, different factory. One rumor is that it's using New Age's factory

Hmm mixed feelings on this. New Age seems to be killing it in designs and build, but I’m not sure about the plastics.

I don’t want a materials dud like MS-02 that has a great design but feels like Chinatown KO junk in hand. Not about weight or diecast, the chug plastic quality is not MP quality.

Guess I’ll roll the dice again since the reviews said it feels good in hand.

edit: to clarify, I know new age is not magic square. Just noting that sometimes plastic quality does not scale up to MP feel.

The good news about New Age is that their plastic quality seems to me to be absolutely on par with the plastics used in a lot of MP figures and their figures, while similarly tiny, are VERY different in feel and quality to Magic Square.

Yeah, I'd put Newage at the top of the 3P materials game! The Fans Toys of legends

I don’t have any Newage products myself, so that’s definitely good to hear. :thumbs2:

I’m just in every thread, talking about how everyone’s killing it right now! I’m playing the odds, I’ve never even bought a 3P figure I just got caught up in the hype!

Those magic square combiners are super impressive but the MS materials remind me of that hard stick of gum you used to get with trading cards.

That kind of plastic look is what puts me off Fans Hobby, i'd be interested in that double dealer if it wasn't for that finish, the sculpt is cool. Shame for me i guess, especially if they do a horri-bull/bull horn or the seacons. gimme paint dammit!
