I really hope Star Toys is going to take a shot at Octane next.. Unique Toys version does not really appeal to me.

You know I love this designer. No talking about promises and moving the goal post.
Just good ol' 3d render and not even a day later, bam! Injection mold protoype and I counted it only just 23 days from reveal to painted sample.

(I am not throwing a shade at another company, just a random rambling  )

 

I agree. Every TE or DS release has been similar. Just let the design speak and no hype or smoke and mirrors.

I forgot about that one, but in my opinion looks worse the Unique toys release.

 

It's more like a production sample.

 

I'd bite at that. The inevitable price drop wouldn't hurt so much, that's me making the assumption (hoping) it's an offshoot of TE/DS.

I wasn't a fan of theirs either. Neither one is "perfect" but at least the UT the plane "mostly" disappears in Tanker mode. I dont think this one will ever get much better than how UT did it. Thats a lot of kibble to hide in both modes and still pull off a somewhat coherent bot mode. Just too much going on there to make a perfect mode for each so you have to give a little in all modes to make it work at all. But for me it was the wings disappearing in tanker mode that sold me. I know the original toy didn't bother but the toon did and for me, its that toon aesthetic that does it for me.

 

Looks like an upgrade compared to Ditka. I like the colours. The knees, hands, face and torso (not so overloaded) look much better compared to Ditka. Now I want to see ST Blitzwing alongside FT Astrotrain.

 

I mean it looks good, but I don't know. I'm kinda just not blown away. its kinda toon to a fault. down to the long torso and awkward thigh design. Flat panels everywhere. I hope someone does labels/stickers for this guy. He is just not a visually interesting as a masterpiece should be...just my opinion. The legacy one gets a lot wrong, but at least its visually interesting in bot mode, dare i say its a better bot mode visually speaking. Also if you are gonna be toon to a fault that elbow joint thing....they need to paint half of it like deformation space did on their seekers. The beige into the purple forearm doesn't look good. also, I don't know where it ends up but the inside of the lower leg needs to be all purple unless it makes one of the other 2 modes really off in deco. still, this design is definitely the best balanced (between 3 modes) as compared to what FT has shown and what KFC has previously released. if the kfc toy were stable in bot mode and had better colors, i'd be tempted to get that over this...its visually better in a some ways. that being said....its gonna be likely that this is my blitzwing...and i'll be down with decepticon triple changers (don't care for octane character nor the mp scale toy that is released a while back).

 

I like it, I think I'll bite. I just don't have the patience until FT get to him.

 

He looks really nice. I decided to only collect the movie and S3/4 main cast, but Blitzwing was prominent enough in Five Faces to warrant a purchase. :'D

 

Looks quite good. I hope the final product can have a touch of metallic flakes or something.

 

The way you're demonizing anyone who wants a *tiny* bit of detail on their toys reminds me of the Bayformers people ganging up on anyone who wanted a bit of armor over 2007's scrapmetal skeletons. There is a middle ground but you're too fanatical to admit it.
