I think you are in fact using it correctly, but I just looked at Ditka and that figure isn't offensively greebly at all, in my opinion. But there definitely is such a thing.

I think with their first version, a lot of it came from them dragging their heels. Or at least, putting priority on other figures instead. It got left behind and BECAME a thing that was dated before it was even released. Maybe people wouldn't be happy with that release, but I'll bet a lot of people would. From 2.0 to now, that's them trying to make it work for today. For all we know, 2.0 was never going to work, so good on them for adjusting, I suppose.

And with really, REALLY good luck (it actually won't take much luck), it'll come out at a lower price, and then go on discount for those that want one. Because a whole bunch of us will be buying this guy instead (speaking directly to competition). So those that are absolutely after the FT version, in whatever form it finally arrives in, will eventually be happy. For them, here's to hoping '3.0' is the best FT can do and they get what they want.

But yeah, I think I'm set with this one. And unless there are horrendous issues with it, I'll be good.

Perhaps it's sacrilege to say, but I'm more than happy with my $50 Hasbro version. Sure it's not perfect and in particular jet mode is kind of lame, but it will do for the price and shelf presence.

This looks pretty dam good! The exposed hardware in tank mode really bugs me but the other modes seem pretty solid.

Doing this kind of thing as a hobbyist is completely different from doing it as a professional. The fun is in working out how to do things and making the changes, not in the finished product. Getting to the actual finish line is often a slog because you've done all the fun parts and now you need to just go around fine tuning and finishing all the remaining bits. It's why a lot of us customizers have so many projects and yet finish so few - the process is the fun part and is much more important than the finished product (it's also why I didn't start an Etsy store for such a long time and it's part of why I ended up going on hiatus and still haven't gotten back to it).

As for why FT keeps redesigning Berserk, I can't really speak to that. I doubt it's the same thing as a hobbyist moving from project to project. I'd suspect that their first two design just haven't been up to snuff and they want to get it right. It may be that the person(s) in charge are particularly passionate about Blitzwing and want to be extra sure to do him justice.

If you collect Generations, then yes it's a good option, but for MP collectors Gewalt is (personally) The best option for us out here

Actually as a customizer, I can totally relate to having more WIPs than completed projects. The one I was talking about, it was the same project and just kept morphing into a new idea using the same body structure but ditching certain parts for different ones. That went way beyond moving to a new project, which most of us are guilty of. And it's why I related it to FT Blitzwing.

On the other end, it's not like FT have been stuck on just one thing, and maybe some successes with certain figures wouldn't have happened if they didn't put BW on the back burner? But at the end of the day, I'll very likely be moving on with this one and won't give FT a second thought. And it was the one I was waiting to see.

This looks pretty nice. Now hopefully this will be the one company to give us Overcharge.

Ah, yeah, that's a little different. Still, I can understand a customizer reusing the same figure which they're already familiar with, especially if they have no interest in finishing the previous project.

one thing bugs me about ST blitzwing. i think the upper arms/shoulders sit a bit too low. its below the top line of the torso. its not horribly off but i think it is a little bit detrimental to the look.

also looks like they used blitwing's leg shape to justify putting a mid thigh (maybe upper thigh?) swivel instead of the thich swiveling at the hip connection point. not ideal....but if it can stand without falling, its got ditka beat (honestly ditka's bot mode doesn't lose by much if any to this guy from a looks standpoint) in bot mode though. the alt modes are very g1 toy inspired here which is cool i guess (will match stylistically with FT thomas in that regard). i will most likely end up getting it if it looks passable in its fully colored guise. the small hardware bits in tank mode aren't too horrible if it blends in colorwise.

I'll decide about this one after I see how the color version turns out and what the price is.

Before seeing how he’s actually supposed to look (instead of how someone accidentally folded the nose come up as part of his torso) I’d have disagreed personally. Seeing images where they’re supposed to be used as hip skirts looks far better though. There are parts I highly prefer Ditka personally (the head sculpt looks better/more accurate for one), but it’s indisputable that DX9’s offering is drastically more stable.

This…? I need to see reviews and prices before I start earmarking money for him. I’m not too keen on how the shoulders look under his… what do we call those, pauldrons…? And he’s awfully simplistic looking also in that “supremely animation accuracy” look I don’t care for much.
