in the episode in which star scream brought unicron's head to cybertron and was revived, they didnt make it clear if he had died again. they showed him flying off into space with smoke coming off him but ... never did they show him blow up. possible still alive?

Could go either way. Though the next canonical appearance of that Starscream, he's back to being a ghost, and in other appearances such as the manga chapters set in that season, he's there as a ghost.

There is a possibility that the ghost starscream we saw in Beast Wars was from before he got his body back.

Oh, entirely possible. It's always possible he lived a good long life with that new body and died from the last shot fired in the Great Wars. But there's never been any suggestion anywhere along the line of what actually happened to him, so we're basically looking at a complete moot point.

That's what I always thought, since the back story he gave the Predacons left out him getting a new body. Plus since BW was possible because of time travel, it's very possible that the Starscream we saw in "Possession" was from a point in time before he helped Unicron.

I like to think that something similar to Machine Wars happened, with Starscream dying but possessing that new body.

I wish that they wouldn't have given him his body back. Optimus should've stayed dead as well. Both deaths were done so well during the movie. I mean even though I personally don't like it, I at least understand why Optimus was brought back to life. Why bring Starscream back to life? It's not as though they continued his story at all.

When I worked at Marvel's file room, I came a cross some materials that suggest they planned to use him a bit more if the show wasnt canceled.

She said "You got blasted by Galvatron for being a traitor", which was closer to what happened in the movie. In "Ghost in the Machine", yeah, Galvatron shoots at him, but this was after he was already sent off flying through space due to the explosion. At least that's how I saw it.

I might be in the minority, but I've always assumed that Starscream's "ghost/spark" in the Beast Wars episode had already experienced the events of "Ghost In The Machine."
