I'd have to say it was a tie between the two. Wish that option was around.

Listening to THE TOUCH, I find it really cheesy, but in a good way, Like listening to the SUPERMAN or CAPTAIN AMERICA scores. And that was probably the point: the filmmakers wanted “an inspiring anthem of courage, strength and triumph" for 1986, to inspire and also to shock when Optimus went down.

The Linkin Park songs are okay, not too relevant or magnificent. I'd rate them as a B. The only song that was impressive to me is NEW DIVIDE, and a huge part of that is that the band collaborated with Steve Jablonsky on an instrumental version. But it's rather like comparing apples to oranges: an animated version to a live-action trilogy, more realism, the 2000s are more edgier, etc... You have to throw up your hands.

Stan Bush was appropriate for the G1 movie, but in my opinion, he could never pull of a modern live action movie. Linkin Park may not have been the best choice for the live action films, but they did fit more with the tone of their music than Stan Bush would have.

I prefer Linkin Park 100% because I was never a fan of the cheesy music Stan Bush used for the 80's film.

It is almost certainly nostalgia talking, but I think history will be kinder to Stan Bush's contributions to Transformers than Linkin Park's, if only because Stan's are more upbeat and laudatory, for the most part.

Agreed, but twenty years later, it's got nostalgia going for it, just like the rest of eighties rock.

Agreed. I go with Stan on this.

I've actually been running to the TF:TM soundtrack lately. You'd be surprised how motivating it is. :)

EDIT: Well, except for the track when Optimus dies that is...

Well Linkin Park, but I do like the Daft Punk option :lol  They really need to get them on board for TF4, their Tron soundtrack was great, I can't even imagine how cool a Transformers one would be :D

steve jabolensky did great too. i think both linkin park and stan bush are great for the movies that they wrote songs for. i dont think one is better than the other because bothe artist's songs fit the envornmet well. but if i had to choose, it would be linkin park.

Eh I don't really care about Daft Punk.
Stan Bush is so 80's, and having something like that in a movie like this would kill the tone.
    Linkin Park is ok.

"What I've done" bore no relevance to the movie and I have no doubt it was inserted into the soundtrack just because Linkin' Park is popular with the masses and that it's irrelevance would get overlooked anyhow. Very poor choice, really.

Stan Bush made the 80's soundtrack work because that type of music was edgy then....in fact to me it's still edgy! I love "The Touch" and it's my housework song...I dust my house while shakin' my booty and kill a few pounds. I don't admit that out loud to anyone in real life though.

All that said, I don't think Stan Bush could pull off the soundtrack for the current movies, the only ones who I think would appreciate it are the existing fans.

So, neither. I am not a Daft Punk fan generally, but I do agree they would have been a better choice. I would love a Muse soundtrack xxxx

I'll take Linkin Park in this case. Never liked "The Touch".
