Half the people in threads related to Hasbro stuff. I mean everyone claims Galvatron (for example) would be impossible to do as a voyager but Cyclonus and now wreck gar show that you can get clever with budgets and engineering to fit large figures into smaller price points.

But Galvatron, as he is, clearly does not fit the Voyager price point. He's big, and densely packed with moving parts. He fills his Leader Class slot comfortably.

People still can't wrap their heads around the fact that the price classes are not "size" classes. Size has a correlation, but it's not the entire story. We can still get tall Voyagers, where the new scale mandate supports it, but with the current character selection, there's simply been a lean towards smaller, but denser, toys at the higher price points.

i dont think many people believe wreck gar sized voyagers can no longer happen, i'd agree that it feels kinda pointless for galvatron to be leader since the could've made him a voyager with just his fusion cannon, the part count looks higher than other voyagers but ultimately the "cannon mode" doesn't look that much better.

my best guess is that they wanted a galvatron that would be on par with the commander rodimus

That's actually a pretty inspired retool idea, and not one that I'd be opposed to.

This thing is just amazing imo. Easily the best (for me) mainline Wreck Gar ever. (If we can call Studio Series mainline, at least in the "not an MP and not a one-off exclusive" sense.)

Orange beige gang for life! :lol

I am getting this guy, but as a huge fan of the G1 toy, I would totally buy a repaint in toy colors too lol. (Plus I just have this weird affinity for old, 70s and 80s, supposedly "ugly" colors like beige and tan. Somehow fits the clunky utilitarian look of those eras.)

People who call beiges and browns "ugly" have no respect for colour theory and a balanced colour palette. I remember back with Energon Downshift, how everybody hated the US tan/gold secondary colour, and praised the Japanese grey/silver plastic choice instead. But the tan colours really made the toy pop, and the character look more "lively". The Japanese release was drab as hell.

If we had to get a majority vote on colour schemes for every character, then every Transformer would probably wind up being some variation of black, blue, red, and silver. Yellows and greens and browns and magenta wouldn't even make the short list.

Toy thieves do a better job at selling the product than the actual official news. I know this upsets the secret kools kids club, but shit. I didn't even want wreckgar till I watched one of the toy thieves reviews. Now he's shuffled into my get list instead of overpriced class grandpa rodimus.

Human nature. We often aren't that excited over something until we see that something in the hands of someone else. That can apply to many things, but it really is basic toy commercial 101.

Apart from the Super7 one, I think the last mainline one was back during Revenge of the Fallen? And then previously, there was the BotCon one redecoed from Energon Mirage.

When I said red chest, I was referring to the size of the area painted that color on the cartoon vs. the G1 toy. I wasnt talking about whether it was more red, orange, reddish-orange, or orangish-red. Just saying.

Yes Rattrap was smaller than the other Maximals but he wasn't nearly that small. He was about a head shorter than Cheetor and the same height as Black Arachnia.

    Yes.

Honestly, if every CHUG figure looked as clean and non-greebly/non-battle-damaged as this guy, I think I'd ditch MP collecting and become a full time CHUG collector. This guy gives me the toon tingles in a way that most CHUG figures don't.
