Today I’m sharing something easy and simple.
If you have some LEGO pieces and you like this cheap and easy solution, you will be able to cover up that ugly compartment hole on the back of your SS86 Perceptor.

All you be needing are the pieces I show in the pictures bellow and a exacto knife.

The 5mm black connector and the small grey rod must be cut in half to have a perfect fit inside the port.

Put the pieces together and connect to the 5mm port on the back of the figure. This should work nicely.
the cover works fine for the three modes of Perceptor.

    Update: March 10th, 2022

I made a more organic piece and now it looks perfect IMO.

Wait, there's just a hole on the back of this figure? Hasbro, you're really cheaping out as of late. something as simple as a FLAP TO HIDE THE HEAD should be standard. No wonder there was no pics from the back.

That’s pretty neat, and simple enough. Need to try that!

It's a Studio Series figure, which is all about screen accuracy. We see his back in the movie too, he had something there. I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering how inaccurate Kup is (compared to the Buzzworthy one)

Yep. That's good old Hasbro cost cutting right there. They must have figured that if they put a simple back cover on Perceptor, they would have had to charge for a Leader class.

lol. It's not even cost cutting, that's just cheaping out on basic QOL features.

Buzzworthy Kup is the same as 86 Kup except for some slight paint differences.

Excellent idea! Unfortunately I couldn’t bring myself to cover any 5mm ports unless I’m using an accessory

Alright, I made V.2 and now it looks more organic to the mold.

For Lego™ (i.e., any brick maker) pieces, do people have advice for what is needed? I realize Legos are a common item to use to fix up toys and kitbashes. Any recommendations on good things to order from something like Brickfinder - Bringing you quality LEGO news. or some other resource? I am not at all familiar with modern Lego.

Id recommend a different site for Lego bricks called bricklink it has a larger and more comprehensive list of parts and better prices compared to some things. I would also recommend Lego technic bricks for transformers due to the fact that the pegs are a better fit in modern transformers

Totally forgot about this thread. I might try this. But where did you get the new back piece? Or did you make it? Looks great!

it’s not the microscope mode that needs the cover, as much as it’s the robot mode. He has a big exposed hole in his back without this cover.

Seconded, I finally found a perceptor in the wild and now want a back cover of my own. I have the Legos, wondering if the 2.0 is a printed part, or was it bashed from old toys
