In general, I really like this one. Of course, I liked Netflix 'Bee too, and was lucky enough to get that.

I'm getting this, so I have no room to talk, but there is a part of me that sees ones like this or the SS86 versions of Ironhide and Ratchet, and am starting to wonder if we're entering into an era of minor improvements, chasing an ever more "perfect" representation.

A Selects two pack of Glyph and Tap-Out has been LONG overdue.

They said they did the windows to match anime, but the animation is blue. I wish they would change them to blue.

I don't really like the legs on the figure they mush every point of articulation centimeters away from one another and it looks like a garbled mess.

In the stream Evan said they are aware it isn't accurate but that it was due to molding on the figure so they went with black for toy accuracy.

Yeah those are some big romper-stompers XD Agreed on the head sculpt. I kinda wish they had used the Origins head myself as that had a smile and wasn't a bad looking head, though obviously, your mileage may vary.

Our last Hubcap was pretty good, so I think we're in the market for Bumper finally getting a new figure. That ol' mystery and enigma of a Transformer he is

Him and the Omnibots are the only 1984 characters without updates so far IIRC

I HONESTLY thought an SS86 Bumblebee would have been a retooled version of this mold. I mean, yeah, his shoulders would have needed to be reworked and the vehicle would have needed to be re-shelled into that Pennyracer design but I think it could have worked.

Honestly, I think I want Bumper from Animated Bumblebee. Once you see the actual car, he's structurally closer.

    Re-do the feet and head.

    Here's a more recent Familia.

Outside the U.S., particularly in Japan, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa, you do see hatchback Familia taxis occasionally. I'd suggest if Hasbro wants to give Bumper extra character, a taxi deco would stand out from Bumblebee. Wouldn't need to be too heavy.

Seeing it up close... All I can think is "How will the Cliffjumper Retool look like?"

I really like the look of him overall. He gives off some Pretender Classics vibes to me.

That's the opposite of what they said.

Because nylon parts from the robot mode make up part of the windows, and those parts need to be gray, and nylon cannot be painted, the windows are painted gray to match the gray nylon parts. Which, they said, at least match the window colors of the toy.

I was going to add in the SS86 doesn't "wow" me. I agree that Animated Bee is a figure with more balance in his limbs. Looks great. Balances great. Better silhouette. Captures that cartoon better than SS86 captures its cartoon.

IMHO, SS86 does a better job capturing the G1 toy in modern form than his SS86 movie look. Big ol' shoes and all.

I imagine it could hide under the back half of the car.

I would pay premium prices for an MP scale Bumper with a "licensed" or at least very-close-enough Familia alt mode.

Honestly, this feels like where Marvel Legends is going a bit, along with Star Wars Black. Hasbro is starting to hit a wall where they have really innovated as far as they can with a lot of their lines.
