This thread is dedicated to the discussion of a hypothetical SS86 Astrotrain, for when they decide to make him in SS86. This is just a fun idea thread I made to have fun.

Me personally I’d love to see a SS86 Astrotrain, which is a bit biased since he’s my favorite character, and so a new Astrotrain would be awesome to have. Anyways here are 3 things this hypothetical SS86 Astrotrain would have…
    Untitled2825_20240923115518.png
•He would be commander class sized, so much bigger than the Seige Figure. And also have better engineering, so he’s more posable, and his train and shuttle modes are better looking than the Seige ones.

•He comes with his original blaster, and also blast effects for him and other figures in your collection.

•the shuttle’s tailfin can become a G1 toy style chest plate for him in robot mode, that would go well for a potential G1 Toy recolor of SS86 Astrotrain. Or stored away in robot mode for a more toon accurate look.

I would like an Astrotrain, and I am not paying aftermarket prices for the Siege. I am hoping they make him good, and not just different for the sake of being different. If that means he is just a retool of the Siege, then so be it.

Hot take: Siege Astrotrain doesn't need an update. I know I'm in the minority, and an 86 Astrotrain is inevitable, just my 2 cents. I'm perfectly happy with my Siege Leader.

I'm guessing he'll be another Springer. I think Siege has been cited multiple times as being "close enough" so that will be the base. Honestly aside from Prime, Magnus, and Megatron, it doesn't look like anyone is getting rebuilt from the ground up if they already had a Siege/ER/Kingdom figure.

:thumb  So much this. Although I will be replacing my Siege Leader with the upcoming DCS Triple Takeover version due to more preferable (IMO) colors.

    Siege Astrotrain is an all-timer.

I didn't like Siege Astrotrain, so I'd welcome a Studio Series 86 version as long as it's an original mould that doesn't use any tooling from the Siege version. A fairly tall Leader would be fine for him I'd say. Of course if given the choice I'd prefer a Titan Astrotrain based on that awesome Cyberverse design, but that probably won't happen.

I also like Seige Astrotrain, but I think an update is warranted for him. Plus I would like a modern G1 Generations Astrotrain is bigger then Seige.

I think commander is the best price for a SS86 Astrotrain, it makes him big, but not too big. And, yeah I’d love a Cyberverse Astrotrain figure, and Titan would fit Cyberverse Astrotrain a lot.

There's no way, as long as Evan is in charge of Studio Series 86. He's only focused on the scale sheets; even more than standard Generations has been.
