I never liked this design when the games were new. Like some other characters he was clearly based in the then-recent Alternator, which is an unusual look for him. But he’s nearly weird enough to fit in with Beast Machines vehicles, which is a sweet spot for me.

The red plastic seems a lot shinier than I’m used to on toys from the last decade. A shiny red car robot shouldn’t be a rare luxury but here we are.

Between the shine, the awkward shapes of his head, and the bezeled angles on pieces like his chest, big Dreamwave vibes.

    He’s growing on me.

Allow me to articulate a very mature and constructive critique of this figure's most glaring flaw:

Sue me, but hype. I like the look of this guy a lot, and I really don't care about the feet.

Bubbly torso, flat feet. Still think Hasbro's prepping this mold for a TMNT x TF collab.

It’s better than the Jazz retool and the roofless Datsun, which by default makes it the best Cybertronian Sideswipe. Not high bars but it does clear them.

On the fence. I\'ve only bought and kept the Cliffjumper from this line, because I just kind of like him for reasons I cannot explain. I like that this guy can hold his gun, rather than having to do the arm swap gimmick that just doesn\'t work for most of these figures. Unsure if I\'ll get him or not, but we\'ll see if I even see him in a store.

I think it can actually be a good candidate for Scamper repaint

Honestly out of the brothers, I would get this over the SSB Sunstreaker. Yes both are in different media but they are still brothers!

It just looks so crude. Like a figure that came out over a decade ago. Or a modern cyberverse figure. Not seeing a deluxe parts count here.

Eh, I mean, you're not wrong. This is 2024, we've had articulated ankles for a few years now, yet they give us this, like we're still in the Titans Return days. Just saves me money from buying a substandard figure.

Something about him makes me think of those lower end authentic evergreen figures.

Yeah the feet suck but otherwise this is actually looking pretty decent in these new photos. Looks a hell of a lot better than BBM Sunstreaker by any stretch.

Cause SS still isn't standard like Legacy is. If they were gonna use the molds for more than one release, then they'll spend the money. But usually they don't, as SS has usually been a one-and-done line. Very few figures outside of 86 have gotten repaints.

This is the same line that did TLK Hot Rod, DOTM Soundwave, ROTF Sideswipe, literally any bumblebee.
    Straight up embarrassing

All of which have just as many issues and inaccuracies as this sideswipe if you go through and micro analyze them. Yes, even hot rod. The ones on this guy are just more noticeable because bayverse designs are more forgiving to compromise in our collective memories.
