I like and will probably pick up Thundercracker, I have no opinion on AOE Galvatron as a character in general. I feel like these are both radical statements in this thread lol
Are they? Plus AOE Galvatron didn't really have a character to speak of, he was basically just Megatron.
SS-89 Bumblebee Movie Thundercracker “…” Another round at the Bumblebee Movie open sequence results in another seeker! Let’s take a look at the breakdown for SS-89 Thundercracker. Thundercracker had always been my favorite core seeker growing up. Likely because he was clad in full blue, it was always the design and color variant that I gravitated towards. Naturally, when the opportunity came up to redeco a seeker, Thundercracker was my first choice. With the tooling for these variations having been established, it was a great opportunity to start knocking these background characters out. Different from Starscream and Thrust, we see Thundercracker in a non-cone head form, with a face covering, wings in a downward position, and more uniquely with his null rays facing upwards.I love that the studio took the time to incorporate subtle unique details to help differentiate each of these characters, vs simply adjusting the color slider. Speaking of color, there was a lot of newness going on for Thundercracker’s deco. once again, different from Starscream and Thrust which were primarily molded-in cool grays, Thundercrack’s base colors are a vibrant metallic blue. Paired with some deeper silver and gray metallics for the rest of the body, and some unique livery treatments to the wings, Thundercracker breaths a bit of new life into these molds. There were a number of alternative paint operations to the windshield surround, as well as to the exposed chest plate to further differentiate the character. Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Will you be adding Thundercracker to your collection? And which seeker do you want to see made next?
Thundercracker is a must buy for me. I love the seekers, and same Thundercracker was probably my favorite due his blue color scheme. If they can make a BB Skywarp, I will be chuffed to bits! It would mean I can finally get a complete seeker set for my shelve! I think they need to make a Cybetronian optimus based on the ILM concept art, plus a megatron to go with him. i can do without the Megatron, but I will flip out if they make a BB Cybetronian Optimus.
I usually don't go for the leader class, but if they do a Leader BB Movie Optimus with trailer, I will buy that in a heartbeat.
I look forward to adding this guy to the collection...now come on with that trifecta Hasbro!! Give us Skywarp as well!!
I have to wonder if Galvatron's feet (or at least the further back foot) can be rotated downward so that they're sticking out the rear of the truck bed instead of the top of it?
Figured I was done with this mold, but this actually might be the best deco color, so if I see him I may grab him.
An interesting breakdown. As usual, putting the comparison up between the ILM and Hasbro versions doesn't flatter the Hasbro version, although in this case it's the saturated and unweathered deco of the toy that just doesn't quite hold up to the studio digital model. I hadn't noticed that apish posture on the previous looks of this mold, Starscream and Thrust, but it may have been there. It's very odd to see the CAD model of the toy with its shoulders that far ahead of its hips.
For as long as I’ve been a transformer fan, I’ve never been able to complete a seeker set, but I’m not in love with the Starscream BB mold to get more than one. I wish there was a 360 of the in movie model used for the tetra jet.
Oh god the render colors looks so, so good but the plastic color looks so, so super bright, cheap and fisher price looking. Why couldn't they simply mold the plastic in the darker colors of the render?!?! aghhhh so close...
It’s funny to see the renders use an amber colored cockpit, which would actually look good, and then the actual figure randomly turns it to bright neon yellow.
