We really don't but we do know that Prime will be the main character or at the least a main focus of the movie. Agreed it worked because it decided to focus on the characters and have a smaller cast. But I am curious to see how they do things in ROTB. I do think it's very possible the focus on characters will be better than some expect for a film having a larger cast (Autobots and Terrorcons getting the main focus). But I'm getting off-topic. Wonder how long till the rest of Wave 3 is revealed.
My hope is that there will be a small central cast and the rest of the names we're seeing will be around but simply as supporting characters. But from a film-making/marketing standpoint it would likely be difficult to avoid as they'll want to ensure the characters get some screen time so they can better Sell Toys.
Agreed, and I'm thinking that will be the case. The Autobots (5 members) and Terrorcons (3 confirmed members) will be the main focus of the film, then when we get to Peru the Maximals will get involved and basically be the supporting cast (same for the Predacons IF they are in the film minus flashbacks). True, but if you let every character or those supporting characters get their moment then you can get around that and help to sell the toys. IKR? But they look good and I might while not movie accurate give Thundercracker the wings up look like Starscream.
Actually, if you look closely, they're there. They're sculpted in behind the forearms: Sam even acknowledged them:
I feel like Galvatron is just one of those designs that just does not translate well into plastic, at least not at mass market retail prices.
I definitely appreciate them integrating those in some way, but this is where I'd say I wouldn't have minded them being plug-in weapons of some sort with a port on the underside of the arm. Having them be molded in, especially on a $30 Voyager that is compacting as much as it can on a limited budget, isn't gonna work as well.
The design team said as much. The models had *no* vehicle parts in bot mode so they have to invent everything from whole cloth. As I said earlier, with the Bee movie figured they also didn't transform, but on top of that they also didn't have alt modes. So the design team could make a near perfect bot mode and then invent an alt mode that allowed them to work with what was available/visible in bot mode. Hence, little to no kibble in either mode.
Pretty much, while the BBM characters don't have alt modes, it's easier to come up with alt modes for them than to do a robot with no vehicle kibble at all. Along with at least the BBM characters have a semblance of alt mode kibble (Wheeljacks chest, Ironhide/Ratchet's chest, Arcee's wheel legs and backpack).
Bumblebee is one of the cheapest "POP CULTURE!" bait media products that I've seen in my life character focus? Shatter is the only character in the entire movie that has personality (and maybe Dropkick) any other bot is a one-liner bad guy #1 or #2, now they have 4 words, that doesn't turn them into deep characters the entire human cast is bad, the sub plot of Hailee and Bee is artificial and fake compared with Bee and Sam in TF1 even Hailee's family subplot feels like something from a B class movie compared to Sam's parents, even in the performances over-hyped movie that is loved by 3 laughable factors -GEWUUN STYLE! -80s!! YASSS -"""""beloved lighthearted adventure!"""" or a copypaste of a hundred movies that do the same thing but better, and TLK is one of the worst movies ever made, but Bumblebee is somehow worse than ROTF and the amount of iconic scenes/characters/locations compared to Bumblebee and its 2 (or 3 maybe) memorable moments, the Cybertron scene, the Shatter scene (pick one) the Blitzwing scene, over and I don't hate Bumblebee, enjoyed it the first time, impossible to even finish it for a second time without skipping all the human scenes, something that I can even enjoy in the original trilogy
IDK if it's "pop culture bait" if they barely do any 80's pop culture stuff besides ALF (which I loved as probably the only Gen-Z kit that knows about ALF).
Bumblebee was good, sorry you didn't enjoy it. Being a kid who loves the old 80, 90, and 2000, i enjoyed bumblebee. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but calling worse than ROTF is a stretch.
Agreed, I didn't grow up in the 80's (or even 90's) so I have no nostalgia for the 80's really at all and I enjoyed BB as well. Hard agree.
A lot of the best things were made before the 2000's like Jurassic Park, Star wars, Star trek, Jaws, and transformers. I was born afterwards, but i love watching Empire Strikes back over and over. So yeah, I'm a huge fan of the original transformers, but Bumblebee found the line ( in my opinion) that mixed old and new transformers perfect. I know not everyone feels that way, but hey, as long as we all continue to support the franchise, it will live on.
