The cynical side of my brain says its probably harder to notice plastic yellowing when its brown.

But yeah, definitely alot of brown in the mix.

At first I found it strange but after seeing the Beast Machines influence I like it a lot more!

And I already had planned to buy him and the core deluxe one.

Even the concept art of Primal was brownish. So, it's a theme it seems. :D

Yeah it’s been a pretty ugly/drab toy line so far because of it. Only ones not using brown are bumblebee and Battletrap. Everyone else is a variation of brown.

I wonder if ILM were still a round we’d at least get some actual color or variation in colors…

Ah don't worry, the age of the "Beastwunner" is just getting started, as you can see. They haven't been sufficiently browbeaten into submission yet, give it a couple more years and like 3 more crappy movies. Then they too will be gaslighted into thinking it's ridiculous for the movie version of a character look anything like their namesake.

The toy looks alright. That one beefy ass cheetah, looks more like a puma to me. You can immediately tell who it is by looking it at it, a massive privilege by Bayverse standards. I do agree with other people that a stronger shade of orange-yellow and some electric blue highlights would make this look a lot less flat.

It does feel odd for the live-action movie version of a character to not be the ugliest version for once, but really that's more a fault of Beast Machines.

I'm getting some of the same feelings I got with Scourge. I really like it but the more I look at it, the less I like it. Mainline looks a little better but I don't want to essentially buy the kingdom figures again so this is the one I'm getting. A little more color would be nice to, but that doesn't bother me.

This is yet another swing and a miss for Studio Series for me. Yet again, just like Airazor, I just really like the other Rise of the Beasts toy design better regardless of which one is more screen accurate.

If this is SS, which line is the other Cheetor based off the kingdom today?

Eh he’s a more accurate color, and has more accurate design cues but ultimately he isn’t all that accurate. The shoulders are a lot less round in shape, his chest is basically a giant block, and the cheetah looks nothing like an actual cheetah, or the movie cheetah, but rather something like a bear. The mainline figure technically has an inaccurate head and colors, but seems to have less blocky proportions and has a cheetah mode that actually looks like the animal. It also somehow has less shallow detailing.

(shrug) I think the best thing about the movies is that they introduce new designs, especially since the regular lines seem to find the practice anathema. A totally new Cheetor design would have been cool!

The important thing though is that everyone's clearly keeping things in perspective.

It seems pretty accurate based off what little we can see in the trailer and feels like its mix of TM2 and BM designs. I do like the weapons and articulation looks good, wish it had some more paint or a little blue, but otherwise I think I'll pick it up.

I do wonder if it's because we just got a relatively great set of Season 1 Beast Wars reduxes, but none of these Movie versions are doing anything for me. I don't mean to say they look like terrible toys, they look well intentioned and they seem to be hitting what they're going for. It's probably the cost, it's probably the inconsistency in aesthetics between the Studio Series and the "Mainline" toys, it's probably my ambivalence toward the movie leaning all the way back in on having a massive cast sprinkled with names meant to prick nostalgic hairs on the back of my neck.

Not sure. I guess I just like it more when the movies go for something like Shatter/Dropkick or even take an old concept and fully reinterpret them like with Devastator. These all seem to be Moviefied Beast Wars designs, for better or worse and that in some ways feels too safe for me to consider buying another cast of these characters right now.

So the SS ones will look like the movie, and the mainline are… movie-fied versions of the original BW characters designs?

My goodness, what the bleep..... bleep.. [censored]. In a digital age, where we are talking 3d, AI, etc... this is the best these artist/creators can bring to the camera. Give me that budget and I'll bring in a team to do a lot better than this. Cmmn now.

I really wouldn't be surprised if they give Cheetor a Jamaican Patois accent similar to how Hot Rod was given a French accent.
