Looks good, definitely way closer to what we saw in the trailer than the weird looking mainline figure. Once again, this gives me more hope that SS Wheeljack(and by extension, the Wheeljack we actually see in the film) has a significantly better head design than the mainline figure. My only real issues with the figure are the hands which are hilariously obvious in beast mode(though I love that they give him Wolverine claes in bot mode) and the lack of paint. As far as the actual movie design goes, it's not bad, I dig it. It just could have used some metallic blue here and there and a more defined head crest like Cheetor is known to have. I dig his Aztec-inspired weapons and at least they didn't just rip off his tail and call it good(again).

 

it's a shame they couldn't paint his teeth in beast mode.

 

Looking at this toy's design and comparing to the brief bits of his robot mode in the trailer, it's seemingly a mixture of elements of both his Transmetal form and Beast Machines design (the shoulders remind me of the latter)

 

It is clear Caple is a fan of the overall brand and not one specific version. I'd rather have that than Knight.

 

I might use the mainline one to replace my Kingdom Cheetor. Hmm.

 

Complaining about how a character with a name doesn’t looks like another character with that same name is literally complaining about the entire history of Transformers. It’s ludicrously stupid. Are people out here complaining about how Barricade is a police car, not a formula 1 racer? Or about how Bulkhead is a green truck rather than a green helicopter these days?

 

The least they could have done for the beast mode is actually model the head off of a cheetah or the movie model. Thing doesn’t even resemble the animal it’s supposed to be.

Voyager

 

All the detail is there in the sculpt, it's just not picked out. Plus the molding has it where the top of the head is parallel with the neck so it looks less slim than it is.

 

Because of the robot designs? I mean sure...but I won't judge RotB against Bee until I've actually seen the movie because Knight told a great story. Can't judge that about RotB from toys.

I also don't think the robot designs are entirely on the directors. Hasbro and ILM (with a touch of Paramount) probably have a hand in that as well.

 

Sculpt and engineering look great, but I don’t know why the movie’s staff is so afraid of giving any of the Maximals any color. Anything to make them pop on screen or in hand. It’s all so drab and boring.

Also needs more spots, but I imagine the robot mode has the spots magically vanish in the movie, so Hasbro had to prioritize the robot mode’s deco.

 

I don't hate this, in fact I kinda dig it. But, much like Airazor, I think I just prefer the look of the other one regardless of its accuracy to the film.

The shape of the head is still just wrong for a cheetah. It just isn’t proportioned like a cat, especially not a cheetah.

 

His head has the forehead vent and his face is blatantly cat-like without being a unironic :3 face, he has a cheetah head on his chest (despite the toy fucking it's likeness due to overall clumsy sculpting), his transformation is very close to his third season's body/BM body (outside of keeping the cheetah head on his chest which is a Season 1-esque cue).
He is a clear cut Cheetor design, he has more traditional Cheetor design cues than, again, Cheetor's own third season look had at the time. Complaining about Cheetor like he is a Wheeljack situation is absurd.

 

That's pretty dang smart if that was the true intention lol. Looks much more like a Cougar/Puma than a slim down cheetah and such.

 

Once again, as a fellow kid who had to VHS record BW because it was on while I had to run to catch the bus please don't put your hangups on me. Though, again, it's been fun watching a number of people who've spent decades complaining about "GEEWUNNERS" make the exact same pivot to demanding slavish accuracy the second BW was in the spotlight.

 

It being remotely intelligent pretty much disqualifies it from being intentional.

 

Looks very nice, although the exposed hand looks bad...
And the almost one mute color looks very dull...

 

Transformers absolutely needs more polearm-wielding characters.
