The rest of the movie did nothing for me, so I probably would have been better off calling it quits after that opening.

No thanks. Looks like a buncha steps backwards in every respect.

I\'ve never been one to complain about this, but the lack of paint here is detrimental. Between that and the oddly soft sculpted details, I was really kind of thinking/hoping this was some authentics reveal.

but I mean, I like the design. I just don\'t understand how the execution couldn\'t have been WAY better for a voyager SS figure.

Man this looks rough. I hate how the front legs work. Looks too weirdly humanoid in Cheetah mode. Rhinox and/or Primal oughta be great or they’re 0 for 4 on SS beasts. So far Mainline Airazor is the only good beast I’ve seen from this movie.

I'm very much looking forward to this and the SS Optimus Primal figure. I feel that the match is very good, you can easily add more black spots yourself if need be. Im wondering if the transformation is 100% correct, there appears to be a panel on the arm that may be able to swing around to somewhat hide the robot mode hand but who knows, im sure we will find out soon enough when Prime Vs Prime reviews the figure haha. ROTB could be 1 in a new trilogy with the suspected big boss being Unicron which i think would be amazing. If they play any version of the Beast Wars music during this film, oh boy.

Reminds me when someone claimed that Knight Optimus from AoE was completely unrecognisable

Annnd followed.... Thank you for mentioning this. Sure, there's even a possibility it had NO spots at all, and (I would assume) it would be very unlikely to have shared the African Cheetah's distinctive tear streaks.

But it's like Jurassic Park and their "velociraptors"... so, OK they weren't 100% spot-on accurate compared to more research about 2 decades later, but aside from the name they weren't 100% wrong either. The fact is we can't guarantee every detail. But that doesn't negate the generalities either.

It gets SO damn tiresome trying to explain to some people that it's completely off-base to argue that, "if evolution were real then you'd still have humans walking up out of the water" or " then why aren't monkeys still having human babies?"

I $h!+ you not, someone said that to my face... completely confident in the victory of their argument.

Look. At the very least, lets be thankful this was announced on the day it was meant to be revealed. And not leaked months ago by factory robbers.

That looks more like a Bionicle than Cheetor.
With the exception of the Terrorcons, this movie's figures just aren't very good looking.

@jackgaughan, you must be on this team of artist who approved and worked on this. No offense, I have given my fair share of flowers to the hasbro/takara team but on this... Heck his counterpart on the non ss line looks a lot better.

The "mainline" figures - the ones that are more colorful and are re-done Generations figures - as far as beasts go were originally intended for release last year, before the movie delay. The plan was then later for SS figures to come out.

But the movie delay has caused both lines to come out side-by-side.

I think it's easy to pinpoint the time the design philosophy changed to February of last year, because a complete change in design philosophy likely would cause something to be delayed an entire year if you had to rebuild everything from scratch at the drop of a hat.

    For many, it probably was.

You had Autobots vs Decepticons with no human involvement, on Cybertron that wasn't some entirely barren gray hexagonal hive structure, with likewise colorful robots, use of transformation in battle, lots of cameos of beloved characters doing things people have wanted to see for over a decade, the Decepticons actually being a threat without the need of humans to hamstring the Autobots for them, and a Bumblebee that actually was properly voiced instead of a spliced jukebox.

If the animated movie due next year is anything like what we got in Bumblebee, then it could easily be the first movie that the fanbase actually agrees on being good.

I can understand someone being upset by Wheeljack since it really does change completely from what the Bee movie look set up, but Cheetor in the trailer and in this toy is blatantly a Cheetor. He arguably looks more like Cheetor than Cheetor himself did in Season 3 of BW when he became a form of werewolf cat thing.
