I don't really think headsculpts of the SS Maximals will be more BM.
Primal's CGI head is quite familiar, Rhinox's CGI head looks pretty faithful, Cheetor is more of his TMII head combined with aspects of his '97 head, while Airazor is probably new.

I guess vaguely familiar can be used to describe this.

Dang he’s a thicc boi. Cheetahs are slender animals so they didn’t really capture that aspect…

    Look.

It's a Cheetah, if it was fed mostly Cheetos.

The more I look at this, my only glaring issue is the lack of horns on his robot head. Give him those and some marginally better colors and this design is lit

Come with me into the weeds, won’t you? Maximals land on prehistoric earth. It would make sense that they scanned local fauna of the day, rather than a modern African Cheetah.

The American Cheetah was an ice age mega fauna was was much thicker, a rusty color, and with less spots than our modern version. This fits this version of Cheetor:

For me, it's more that I'm not all that annoyed that my giant robot animals that landed millions of years ago yet somehow have (semi) modern beast modes don't look exactly like their counterparts.

At some point people need to sit back and enjoy The Rule of Cool.

Same place they've been on most Bayverse inspired figures. That is to say, absent.

I'd prefer a darker yellow to the orange-brown we have here, but other than that this Cheetor looks nice. The weapons are neat and the figure fits the same style as Airazor ("movie" style?), it's cool

This exactly. What’s cool to me about this film and it’s toyline is we’re really getting the best of both worlds. It’s nice that were actually getting interpretations of these characters in their concept stages and then a closer representation of how they’ll actually appear in the film.

And from what I’ve seen on the boards, it means there’s pretty much something for everybody that’s being offered here.

Totally pleased with the design. My only complain are the visible robot hands in cheetah mode. Waiting for the pre-order!

I can’t help but wonder how we know that it had less spots.
And yet they couldn’t find a way to hide his hands in beast mode. More than any other Cheetor, this one looks like a man standing on his arms and legs.

It’s amazing that they’ve gone back to almost fully unrecognizable for so many of these characters.
