Honestly I dig it, it's a simple design but it works well. Only real complaint from me is the lack of spots.

 

The new Cheetor be like

 

I mean, it's alright. Kind of reminds me of a more plated Beast Machines Cheetor in a way, and I'm okay with that

 

Doesn’t look to bad. feels like a transmetal cheetor in a way.

 

Wish the toy was able to convey the Space Marine shoulder pads more.

 

Man that's bland. I don't mind that he "looks different" (the S1 design got at least 5 different toys in the past few years!), but this Cheetor's just a solid block of rust brown.

 

The issue isn't the difference in opinion, the issue is that a lot of the less favorable opinions are coming off as nagging, especially in large numbers. There's some people on this thread that expressed their dissaproval of the design with proper explanations and respect for those who do like it, but the rest just come off as annoying.
What I find worse is the inconsistency. As an example, on one thread people will complain that something is too G1, on the other they'll complain that it's not G1. It's endless nagging and people cannot make up their minds.

 

It's crazy how easy it is to make this design look decent. If he was just slightly yellow, he would look 10x better.

 

A more yellowish repaint will probably happen in Buzzworthy Bumblebee next year.

 

I like most elements of the design itself. Certainly credit due for being so clean in both modes and good head sculpts. I definitely appreciate how you can pick out elements from so many previous iterations of the character.

The beast toes hanging off the bot fists is a big turn-off. So are the robot feet. Being orange rather than yellow is a bit of a head trip for me.

Overall, I appreciate all the new this brings to the table while homaging the past. In any other color scheme and with more details picked out, this might be a home run.

 

Literally like twice, people assume buzzworthy is gonna redo every figure wither with better paint or no clear plastic

 

People say this about BB, but it isn't really true. Ignoring the Cybertron scene which was added to the film at the last minute, our characters are a very Bayverse-styled Bumblebee who happens to turn into a VW Beetle (with a transformation that is nothing like the G1 dude), a Blitzwing that looks absolutely nothing like G1 Blitzwing and instead looks like G1 Starscream, and two completely new characters who are very much Bayverse-styled. The only G1 "faithful" character in the movie is Optimus.

Also, the MCU designs are radically different from the comic designs.

 

can't wait till they reveal Studio Series Primal and everyone complains that that the studio series figure looks like the character in the movie.

 

I'm getting the impression it was intentional and these molds are getting reused as such.

 

Ya know, everyone always wants to ignore aspects of the finished movie as an argument against the movies design aesthetics. When I compare something to the Bumblebee Movie, I'm not comparing it to what it once was or ignoring aspects of the complete movie, I'm comparing it to the complete finished movie. You're argument ignoring the Cybertron scene is invalid because you are manipulating what exists to support your argument rather than taking it as is.

 

I hate to say it but that doesn't seem likely. Many ss figures were straight rereleases. If they were lucky they would get new paint like CJ, Kup and B127. If this Cheetor was released in buzzworthy it would probably just be a rerelease.

 

I dunno about others, but my complaint for this figure is that it doesn't look enough like the one in the movie. It's like a muted lamer version of it, the movie one looks neat and muscular and curvy like a robot made out of cheetah muscles, while this is like "a kid tried to draw the cheetor from the movie and it ended up looking like this". It's shapes are not as organic as they should've been.

 

Not bad.

I guess we should be asking if everyone prefers this or the mainline Cheetor.

 

You know the funny thing is, depending on if he has as drastic a change between his mainline toy and his SS toy/CG model as Cheetor does, ROTB Cheetor may potentially resemble BW Cheetor more than ROTB Wheeljack resembles Bumblebee movie Wheeljack.
