Even when it's 1:1 they'll still find something to complain about.
It's always "its too G1" or "it's not G1 enough", or "its not yellow enough" or "its too yellow", or "it's fine but I don't care". Hasbro must find this fandom to be extremely unreliable because we simply cannot give them consistency.
As for the complaints about monochrome colors, they're still colors, but darkened and worn down to give off the feeling that these guys are ancient and worn down. And before someone says "so are all the other Transformers but they all still have colors", they were all on Cybertron with all that access to tech. The Maximals were on Earth without all that.

The robot mode looks great, cheetah mode could be slimmer but I can live with it. Overall movie design still definitely screams "Cheetor".

So looking at the two, there do seem to be details and silver missing in places such as the bicepts. The toy does looks a little simplified compared to the trailer design. Also it seems the toys chest doesn’t have his Cheetah chest. Or at least the chests are different.

I like the design, it's very Transmetal II looking but I do NOT like that gross tan color

Didn't notice that before. These figures might be due again later down the line because comparing the movie models to the figures is nowhere near the same. I know the figures are based on concept art but that doesn't make it accurate to what it's trying to be.

It does have his cheetah head, it is just that the sculpt for it is bad cuz they made the surfaces too flat and too wide, so it fails to evoke the skull/head shape of the cheetah head, but you will notice that the separation and placement of the cuts is similar to the movie 3d model's

"I like it, but you know what I like so much?

The way that haters are already giving it attention and seek attention here, because no matter how much they say that they hate movie or they dont care about movie toys, they need to be here screaming how "bad" "lack" "bland" and "worst" are the things, just to get one sec of spotlight."

Dunno what you mean by "haters" in this post since most of the people here stating their dislike just straight up dont like the look of the fig. It's not as if they went "this figure sucks and this movie will suck! And everything about this will suck and its trash!". I don't know what specific group you're talking about since your post was so vague that it can be easily misinterpreted.

I think they might be as well. If the film wasn’t delayed they would be 1:1 accurate probably. For this film they basically had concept art and early unfinished 3D assets.

Agreed, feels more faithful, I still like this toy but the final design is better and a lot closer (same for Rhinox who looks pretty darn faithful).

Nobody would care about Bumblebee if the Last Knight wasn’t such a bomb that they had to make pseudo reboot out of it during production and added five minutes of that fanservice Cybertron scene that wasn’t originally planned for the film.

Let’s be honest, they never gave a shit about the looks or continuity. Bumblebee was a tolerable movie because they knew they had to be after such a disaster the last film was. People here would be shitting on Bumblebee the same way we are now if the designs weren’t G1 accurate, even if the movie itself is no different than what we end up getting.

Even with all the usual transformer movie complaints, this is something we’re gonna be hearing more about in regards to the reaction of how the entertainment industry is intentionally pissing off fanbases for attention and clout when it comes to the certain shows and movies that have been released recently.

This looks pretty great albeit pretty simple, though it is a Cheetor. But these colors aren't selling it. Even in the small glimpse we got in th trailer he was more yellow than this. I still want it, but the colors are putting me off some.

Now THAT looks really good. I would grab him off the shelves within 2 milliseconds if he looked like that.

I've gotta call them as I see them, and this looks like some kind of monkey. Looks like I will be skewing heavily towards the standard release versions for ROTB as these Studio Series do nothing for me so far.

look if you're okay with modding your figures anyway, just get a silver sharpie marker, kablammo

way less work than rubbing alcohol

As for me, if Cheetor's movie model is meant to look worn and rusty, then I'm glad the toy doesn't look "clean." If it represents the character's appearance better then, yeah, it's good!

Cheetor really does evoke a lot of both his TM2 and BM designs in robot mode so I dig that. I mean let's face it this is going to be as close as we're ever going to get to having an actual BM Cheetor update period. Kinda let down on ow simple his transformation is looking to be but from what we've seen on screen that IS accurate so I can't knock them too much over it.

It doesn't look rusty, though, it looks like a flawed paint application, because nowhere else on the figure is the paint that spotty. Shoulders? Clean as a whistle. Forearms? Spotless.
