It's probably the lack of a crest and a mouth. That and the top of his head is just like a flat block.

 

I like it. It’s different enough from OG Cheetor while being recognizable. I can’t be the only one getting vague Beast Machines vibes either.

I still like the previous deluxe we saw, but this isn’t bad.

 

Probably the Maximal design from the movie I like the most, the color choice is interesting and sitting on a shelf he'll proably not look too bad.

But what is with the boring-ass monochrome? Primal is black, Airazor is brown with more brown, Cheetor just looks washed out color wise alongside them, and Rhinox is likely just shades of gray. Where's all the color and life supposed to be?

 

Is Hasbro gonna address the confusion between the SS line and the "movie main line"? I'm on this site like everyday and I have no idea what they're doing with these releases..

 

I like this... I really like this and I don't know why!

 

I feel like some of these designs would work better if they were just painted as different characters.

General audiences won't accept electric blue on a 15 foot long biomechanical cheetah from outer space, it's not naturalistic enough.

 

Just found the color mashups of blue, silver/chrome, and yellow to be pretty ugly.

 

Someone on the movie design team is clearly a Beast Machines fan because this is rather obviously an adaptation of BM Cheetor. And I’m good with it!

Looking at the mainline figures versus the Studio Series figures, I think there’s a distinct possibility that they made a conscious effort to lean more into BM’s design philosophy late in production, which is wholly unexpected but not altogether terrible.

 

You'd of thought people would have grown up and learned to deal with change when it comes to character designs by now. It's literally been happening since the very first non-G1 piece of media around 30 years ago.
Personally, I think this design looks pretty good (unlike a certain goofy VW), though the cheetah head looks kinda bearish. But while the design is alright, the figure itself looks kinda cheap/bland if you get what I mean.

 

Totally agree. I've been saying this for awhile now. I don't think the toys are that bad, but the drab/"blah" colors make me not want to buy them. I may only get Wheeljack - and that is just because of his unique alt mode. It's depressing.

 

I would have to wrap him with fairy lights just to have him stand out in my collection.

 

He's like TM2 Cheetor without the ugly goblin face and mange. He's like a toy-only Beast Machines figure that ignore the gross Mainframe designs.

He's sex and even if he's not a recreation of S1 Cheetor that other figure leaked scratches that itch anyway.

You'd have thought people would have gotten tired of using the same argument of 'people not having learned to deal with change' over the past 15 years, since that's been tossed around ever since 2007.

It's almost like the problem isn't simply change itself, but what things were changed into.

 

I woke up to this, man I forget how the looks chance, but at least it\'s better than BM Cheetor.

I’m seeing some posts on the front page and are people shocked with how he looks? We knew from the trailer that was gonna be his design in the film.

He looks good, he’s like Beast Machines Cheetor but better and good.

 

Yeah I like it. Definitely thinking in the movie the mouth plate will be retractable, a lot of characters have had that recently. And I love those spear weapons, they just scream tm/tm2/bm Cheetor. You know I can kinda see a little bit of every Cheetor in this, definitely bm, a little tm and tm2, and a little bit of Cyberverse, which I love all those designs so yeah I\'m up for this.

It's literally just "that doesn't look like the cartoon I grew up with, therefore bad"
