As a toy this is pretty impressive. Whenever a figure has basic human proportions and no kibble, that's always going to be impressive.

As a representation of Cheetor, this is once again another failure from ROTB. I can't understand the design philosophy here- changing the look of these characters to this extent won't make them appeal to general audiences more, but it will piss off actual fans of the franchise.

If money is the only motivator for this movie, why bother? Wouldn't it be more profitable to make the characters recognizable to better capitalize on that nostalgia?

 

It actually looks kinda cool. I like that staff weapon. The cheetah mode does kinda look like a monkey of some sort but I think it just needs panel lining

 

Hasbro is saving me so much damn money this year.  

 

Now this one looks like the one from the movie. I Like it a lot. Very well done. Has a mixed Beast Wars & Beast Machines fell to him.

 

Confusing toy line. 

 

Not a huge fan of this. It's just like mainline vs studio series Airzazor. This SS design shares almost no resemblance to BW Cheetor (different color scheme, cheetah head doesn't end up on robot chest, unrecognizable head sculpt). And the new design just doesn't look great or stand out to me. All of it is made worse when we almost got the more faithful and imo superior main line design.

 

My post says specifically "haters" and not "all the people that dont like the figure" so if you think that Im talking about all the people, its not my thing.

So if you are not part of the haters that I specifically mentioned in my post, why are you care about what I said there? I wrote a post about other people, not "most of you who are talking about the figure" so I dont get why are we talking.

 

I like how you're hirig a team and not doing it yourself, also why not give him something aside from the boring generic North American accent most Transformers have?

He looks less like Cheetor, and more like a generic who just also transforms into a cheetah, if that makes any sense.

Had a person say that the other figure was studio series cause \"They can\'t make an officially licensed Cheetor\". And yet here we are, everyday i get more and more hope for Nightbird.

 

It's interesting. I'd probably like it more if, like Airazor, there wasn't another toy out there that looks very different, yet is ostensibly the very same guy..

As it stands, while I don't think it looks bad, and is a perfectly serviceable movieverse design for the character, next to the other, 'mainline' Cheetor toy, this looks like it had a lot of the more interesting bits, and about 30 to 50 percent of the stuff that makes me say "Yup, that's Cheetor!" sanded off.

 

You’d rank TM Cheetor’s design below TM2 and Beast Machines? That’s not a very common opinion. What don’t you like about it?

 

Looks good! I have some nitpicks, like the boxy head and the legs being a little too squat-looking in robot mode, but overall I like this figure and will be buying it.
