And these pictures showcase that his "wings" are much smaller and sleeker than on the SS toy, regardless of angle, making them more akin to the DOTM toy. If the wings on the SS toy can be more neatly folded up, that will help a little, but not much. The fact remains that the entire back area of the DOTM figure is much better, having no inaccurate kibble and having much sleeker and more stylish wings.
What happened to Jolt's face? I though we were finally going to get an accurate head sculpt since the last ones where based on concept art? They made a whole new mold and still messed up! That head looks more like Canopy.
DotM has nothing BUT inaccurate kibble. It looks more streamlined and stylish. That's why you like it so much as a toy. I can give you that. But it's not Joltish
I like both inaccurate and accurate head (but accurate one looks bald to me, as alwyas) Having both ROTF and DOTM molds, this one dosent look so bad, cant wait to take kibble out of him.
It's right around the goofy feet area. I include all the bulk on the torso, since that's what's being judged on the DOTM Deluxe. But they're not right behind the shoulders, they're upside down and sticking out of the back kibble, quite far from the shoulders. Jolt's movie model has the front end growing out of the backs of the shoulders. I don't see any back bumper on the movie model's shoulders, let alone the entire rear quarters, tail lights and all. Again, I don't think the SS figure is bad, but it's not some miracle of kibble management, and it does a poorer job implementing the alt mode than previous toys.
i was going to say a lot of things, both good and bad about the new mold, but, honestly i think i will let people form their own opinions, even if they are wrong, not only about this jolt but also about the previous ones, im kinda tired of trying to explain everything to everyone, i will just enjoy that one of my favorite designs have another try and that it looks great(even with all its imperfections)
My immediate reaction to Jolt was thinking it looked like a hot damn mess and assuming it had been horribly mis transformed to look so terrible, but reading through this thread it seems that most people thinks it looks incredible, so I must be going insane or I'm not seeing what other people are seeing.
I like the Dotm toy and the new SS one, they both look good to me for different reasons. But the Dotm does have a different transformation than the actual character does, using different parts of the vehicle In different places, while the SS tries to use the right parts in the right places. The DOTM one isn't wrong and I like what that one does differently and I enjoyed the figure before it broke on me, but the SS is trying to achieve something different than what the Dotm one did.
The previous Jolt toys were going off concept art, this is based off the final design from the film. The reason the head resembles Canopy's is because they share the same head design.
Ah, I remember you. Your "opinions" never make any sense to me. Never mind I know The latter. I think people see the good proportions behind the kibble, how the kibble is accurate, what it looks like correctly transformed and from a better angle
I\'m probably gonna get this. I don\'t care for most Bay designs, but I\'ve always had a soft spot for Jolt for some reason. Even if it isn\'t 100% accurate, it still looks cool to me. There\'s only so much they can do on a budget, and what they did with the kibble looks good to me.
Any comparisson pics between DotM Sideswipe and this new RotF one? I skimmed the whole thread but didn't see one. Anyway, I'm in for Jolt as he's an accesory to Jetwing Prime. Don't think he looks particularly bad, but I'm not expecting an awesome deluxe either. Sideswipe I'm most likely skipping. I'm not a car guy, so a different alt mode doesn't convice me to get another figure that looks almost exactly as the one I already have.
The "shoulder things" on Jolt do seem to be articulated since they are in different positions on the two photos, so maybe there is a proper configuration/pose for them that the guy who took the photos simply wasn't able to achieve yet?
Alright I'm honestly hyped for this figure, that being said it's not without its flaws. Pro's: Alt mode looks great and is a great display piece robot mode looks great kibble is heavy but not the worst we've seen ever Con's: Kibble does look like it hinders articulation back kibble is the worst part of this figure so far wipes are firm plastic and it seems to be a common trend for Hasbro to do for the last point I want to clarify that the SS 54 Megatron also had this issue along with topspin which is a reverse case in which the weapons were soft and made it a little bad. There are obviously more good and bad points I just wanted to focus on the main ones that I have. This thing looks defiantly mis-transformed but we won't know until we get more pictures or reviews or the official reveal
