Hmm are his back flaps able to be swapped from right to left? Itd look way more accurate if his flaps were closer in i think

I believe they can be swapped. So there’s that option!

Then the lettering would be backwards. The panels are adjustable regardless.

Hello! I just received my SS combiner upgrade kit by DNA Design. Haven't unpacked it yet but if there is demand I might do a semi-professional video review about it :)

I added a mini update at the end of the review post.

The new Mixmaster connector wore down fairly quickly. It's not stably holding Mixmaster in place, which is annoying.

Initially, I didn't think the extra weight was too big of a deal, but especially with more advanced posing, the weight is making combiner legs extra floppy and also very annoying to deal with.

Is it the back panel that is adding most of the weight? I can't imagine the doors/tubes/head piece weighing things down.

Devastator's hips were already marginal before adding on extra-weight. All the parts get added onto Scavenger and Overload. He flops pretty easily now.

Got my set today but missing quite a few things including half the instructions! Any of you lovely people show how you’ve got mixmaster set up to connect with the new piece

Just a small request if you can, could you post pictures of the instructions? I still have mine on pre-order and don't know when BBTS will ship it but I want to see how confusing the instructions really are.

Doesn’t look too confusing, can’t be any worse than assembling Devy.

Still waiting on BBTS to get their stock!

I think I managed to somewhat recreate the beast mode that was shown in the promotional pictures. They definitely didn't use the new mixmaster port for that one (it's impossible to connect the way it's aligned) and they hinged it forward so it is not in the way. But they used the two mixmaster/scavenger connection points and aligned it with the rearmost tires so that they slid into the two round nudges.
The legs of mixmaster are completely straight, only the feet are angled upwards.

Well, it has gotten quite annoying dealing with Devastator with the kit when trying anything outside of a basic A-stance. Not trying to dissuade people in general, just expect to be more annoyed with the kit after using it for some time.

I've already become mildly annoyed with devastator in general due to the lack of poses that he can actually handle, but to make it more annoying would push me over the edge I feel like. I also know that DNA Design kits go up in value once they sell out, which they usually do, so that's mainly what's tempting me to keep my preorder.

As much as I appreciate the little details to get it a bit closer to what we saw on screen, I for one, have always been 100% satisfied with the stock build.

For what this figure accomplishes on its own merit, is truly phenomenal and doesn't need any extra stuff to weigh it down, or prolong combining it.

How could you ask for more than this:

...and especially with @ziltama comments about added frustraion to the overall experience, in my opinion it's not worth some shoulder wings, missiles and a rounder face.
