In an earlier thread I promised 5 versions of Computron. Of course everyone knows the Hasbro CW version and the Takara UW version. And in another earlier thread (CW Lightspeed as a leg) my 2 Computron Cartoon versions already made their appearance, one with a Perfect Effect head and one with a Steam Shield/ Shape ways head. And the fifth version represents the way I think the CW G1 Toy version should have looked. So here they are in one picture: And here are my 3 customs: You have probably noticed that there are different heads, arms, legs and feet involved. I will not explain all my choices now, but one I want to explain is the choice of feet. In general I like the CW hand/foot/weapon the most, but when Abominus was released in the POTP line, he had new feet. And because he was in Toy colours, I wanted my Computron counterpart in the same way, in G1 Toy colours and with POTP feet: My Abominus G1 Cartoon version has CW feet: And here Hasbro Computron, the original G1 Computron and my G1 Toy look Computron: And just the original G1 Computron with my CW G1 look Computron: Below are also some more pictures that are not shown full size.
Nice work! I like the G1 toy look best. It's funny you have 5 Computrons and I don't even have one, much less ANY of the CW/UW Technobots. By the time these rolled around I was sick of all the repainting/retooling in the CW line so I skipped them. I preferred parts of the Hasbro one and parts of the Takara one but not enough of either to have bitten the bullet on either, much less both. I'm hoping we get a whole new set at some point.
Initially it was not my intention but gradually grew to this. I've always been a modeller mostly making airplane and aircraft carrier models. When the CW-line came, I thought that these were relatively cheap, but good looking models, resembling the G1 characters of the 80's and I got hooked. Now I've almost 40 combiners of which 12 original releases, remaining all customs.
