Y'know, that guy from the trailer? (if you've seen it) The gold guy. I noticed a few things on my many obsessive viewings of the trailer:

1. Among the dead bodies in the ship, there's a large circular platform with a crack in it the Astrodudes approach. Many of the bodies are seated or slupped over around this platform. Lets assume it's the bridge. The cam pans into that crack later to show us the giant gold robot strapped in his chair. (by the looks of it) This leads me to believe that he's someone of high importance, possibly the leader/captain. (or maybe a captive)

2. He has a much more G1 look, more solid face with human qualities, in fact he reminds me of the nifty ancient TFs from the G1 cartoon, who were often rounded and had retro-ornate designs. He also has a beard, which means he's old. But unlike Jetfire who's beard was long and "unkept" (signifying his crazy old man-ness) this guy has a very nicely "trimmed" beard, making me think he's, again, of high esteem. He also has ears very much like Prime's. (plus a dent on his head, ouchies)

3. He and his crew look like Autobots to me. He's very human-like and has more condensed panelling and is brightly coloured, and his crew are also less spiky and look (to me) like the Autobot's protoform.

So, who do you think he is?

 

Alpha Trion, maybe?

 

He has Optimus' Batman ears, and a 'stache rivaling Peter Cullen. Gotta be Sentinel Prime.

 

My first thought was Vector Prime. Sentinel would make sense too, I guess, but I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

 

Nice eye, if fact, there's a lot of similarities with Prime, like the head shape and nose shape.

EDIT: He kinda looks like Robert Downey Jr.  

 

I was thinking Alpha, and I still hope it's Alpha, but take a look at the shot that leads down to his face: he has back wings like a seeker or Aerialbot. Silverbolt?

 

Sentinel Prime, Alpha Trion, Vector Prime... I think it's safe to say that it's an "older" Autobot. My money's on Alpha Trion, though.

 

yeh maybe it is alpha trion. he created optimus prime and he does have some similar aspects

 

I know there's been some debate...but it could be Omega. We don't really have a good judge of his overall size but Omega was one of the oldest Autobots and this looks to me like a movie version of him.

But then I could be totally wrong...not the 1st time

 

He looks like Gandalf

 

Looks like Emirate Xaaron to me, but I doubt he'd make it into one of the movies.

 

Just another random note; He's frozen in a perpetual Spock "fascinating" expression.

 

Maybe when he comes to earth(if he does) he is that fire truck dude that is suppose to be Optimus's dad? I dunno someone suggested silverbolt and I can definetly see it but I lean towards it being Alpha Trion, Sentinel Prime, or Vector Prime.

 

I'll go out on a limb here and say that, most definitely, he isn't. One possibility eliminated!

 

Do you think hes alive? because hes body looked like it got activated...and left the moon? for 40 years hes been hiding on earth?

Just curious, but does anyone else agree with me on that this might be a deception war ship that crashed on the moon but was deactivated but reactivated when the astronauts visited it. Those were probably deceptions bodies and shockwave could be a survivor with what I think an autobot under captive (with great importance like intelligence officer or cammander). They might have a battle on the moon. That would be awesome since it's in 3D

 

Alpha/Vector/Sentinel either one as at they could all serve the same purpose. but most likely gonna be Alpha Trion, and most likely Gonna turn into the Fire Truck since Nelson said it would be a new take on an iconic character and Alpha Trion is Iconic.
