Bumblebee transform into a car, look at Cliffjumper and Prime they have wheels with tires too.

That's a major flaw of the cartoon carried over to this movie, but people give it a pass because it's G1.

Earth primitive technology in a place like Cybertron?! Sure, why not...

If I have to see "wheels" there they should develop the technology a bit further imo.

Prime didn't have his leg tires on Cybertron, only at the end. And why shouldn't they have tires on Cybertron? I get what you're saying, you want them super alien, just curious why the same design but hovering is be
Prime didn't have any wheels on Cybertron. He did in the trailer, but in the film, his legs were tireless untill the mid credit scene when he was on earth. I don't understand why wheels on Cybertronians is a problem? It's a simple solution to have mobility in vehicles.

Polymers are produced by anything alive, tires on the other hand are an Earth based technology that I wouldn't expect to be used on Cybertron, which imo is faaaaar more advanced than Earth.

Yes, like the first movie, they can be geewunn on Earth, I do not have a problem with that. :)

    ---0---

But oh well, I won't discuss this any further. I find it ridiculous, you people don't, it's ok :)

all in all, it just requires a certain suspension of disbelief. remember, this is still a universe of shape shifting sapient living beings that turn into technology, vehicles, airplanes, etc.

Just to address points you made:
#1 polymers produced by anything alive - Cybertronians, imho, are natural, sentient living organisms, as opposed to artificial.
#2 tires are an Earth-based technology - i believe any self-sufficient, advanced civilization since they started recording their history and accomplishments would be able to unlock 1) fire, 2) wheel.. those two are among some of the most fundamental technologies/knowledge any civilization needs to develop to grow and advance.

I finally saw this last night. I loved it. I hope it is indeed a launching pad for a reboot. I personally thought it was a good blend of aspects from G1 and Bayverse. I like the TF and the human characters better in this movie.

I was thinking after watching it for a second time today as to whether people think Brawn died in the cyberton scenes or not. You see an explosion right in front of him and never see him again. One of those open for interpretation scenes again I think.

Also, just because they're wheels and have treads doesn't mean they're made of rubber. It's alien, they can be made of anything. Imagination!

Also, yes...interesting one would call out a Transformer who never had an Earth alt mode for being too "Earthy"...however, he did say "Sockwave" - and a sock alt mode would be very un-cybertronian for sure.

Also, great work on the voices @jon3pnt0 ! You really nailed the characters!

He looks like a human made robot toy! Unlike his more menacing counterpart in DotM. And I know it is spelled Shockwave...

Meh, I think it’s kinda nitpicky to worry over tires. Sorry, bro. Just pretend they’re “space tires?” :p

I mean, I guess he does. But all of them are technically human made since Cybertronians weren't on the design team.

Also, I would argue that Shockwave's DOTM incarnation was MORE organic and Earthy, considering how skeletal he looked, particularly in the ribcage area.

And may I add that for the most part, I liked the character designs in the Bayverse films - it just goes to show that it's not about what you got, but how you use it.

The rib cage thing always reminded me of Lord Zed.

Dude, it’s friggin tires. You’re nitpicking over tires and *I* don’t have anything intelligent to say? We’ve all ignored far more in previous films just as I’m ignoring how ridiculous your “tired” argument is. You got all your non-G1 movies. 5 movies’ worth. None of which would have been made without G1 - a show with plenty of flaws that we all overlooked because we love the brand. I think deep down, you can get over the tires. If you want a bunch or random alien robots that look like nothing where you can’t tell any character apart, you can watch the Bay movies to your heart’s content and you won’t see any tires on Cybertron. Seeing as how none of us have been to an alien world full of AI robots, how would any of us know if they DON’T have tires. Maybe tires are a perfectly acceptable thing in the universe and maybe just maybe, you’re thinking about it way too hard. But to each their own. Don’t like tires all ya want.
