I was expecting something a little more plot-heavy, but the shots did look great.

I did like the visuals of that Anthony Hopkin's scene and the war zone looked great: the color tone and so much moving elements, plus that eagle-eye view.

Someone in this forum did mention that they usually build hype before they drop the teaser. To tell the truth, the only mention of the trailer was in the video with Michael Bay where he says to expect it in November or December. The news of a trailer didn't come from an official Transformers channel, we learned it through the grapevine. I know that WB has officially announced that they will be dropping Justice League trailer this week. So the featurette may actually be an appetizer  

 

I don't know why everyone likes John Wick. It's a generic action movie...but yeah on topic the cinematography looks great!

 

I mean It says "coming soon". But I am pretty sure it is referencing the film itself  .

 

One was. It's just not the one people assumed.

 

This feels to me more like an idea of what we'll see in the trailer when it comes out this Friday.

 

Because analyses may suggest potential spoilers. People say "potential spoilers" in speculative threads. So there very well may be a spoiler warning in a thread containing official footage from the movie

What I meant was the lack of any hype that would prelude the trailer release. Beside the trailer classification info there is no official news that something is happening and I thought that this may be it. Some sort of sign that says 'heads up, here we come' or something.

Since we're on the topic of the featurette: First Transformers The Last Knight Footage Debuts In New IMAX Featurette

/Film hints that they may lift the embargo in December. On the other hand, most news outlets seem to be under the imperssion that there IS a trailer coming.

No. Those clearly are Flak Cannon/anti-air Battery emplacements made from sandbags. Both theaters of war had them in WWII.


In these pictures, the circle of drums and sandbags serve more to keep the tide out than real ground-level attacks at bay, because this image is denoted as being from Okinawa.

The hexagon shape as seen in the movie screencap (but is NOT exclusively the one used - a four-side walled area is in the upper left corner of the marked out portion of the image) is to absorb ground-level projectiles and to act as a kind of barrier to absorb the sheer impact force either from the gun recoil being hammered right into the ground, or from high explosive shells in the vicinity.

But then by that logic, you're saying that despite him not knowing the trailer was a featurette, this is still what was 'promised' even if there was miscommunication going on.

And a woman sued McDonald's because her cup of coffee didn't have 'Caution: HOT' written on it because the fact steam was coming out of it was a clear indication it was fairly hot, and then won said lawsuit which required McDonald's to print 'Caution: HOT' on all coffee cups from then on.

It's better to err on the side of caution and stick the warning on there than to assume everybody is going to be consistently aware of the obvious.

But people don't even like watching trailers because that gives away more information than they want about a film. These are the people who want to go into a film having no pre-defined notion of expectation regarding the film, and speculation that becomes true through that information ruins that ideal viewing experience for them.

I would think the fact that the thread title already had the words TRANSFORMERS 5 FEATURETTE in its title would be enough to ward off anyone THAT afraid of spoilers, lol.

Come on guys it's too early for a full, finished trailer, yeah sure it's not what we've been waiting for but it's still better that nothing, the cinematography does look better indeed...

 

If they're fighting on Cybertron, I guess Cybertron has oxygen in this universe???
I bet they're on Earth, though. Too organic-looking.
