really? Well it isn't anything THAT special, glad I saw this here, I was expecting a "shyamalan twist" for some reason, it would have been disappointing.

This is why hype is a bad thing. It makes people believe somethings more exciting than it is.

Ok so...Optimus says something like, "in order for one planet to survive, the other must be destroyed". So I assume he wants to save Cybertron and destroy Earth. But... according to this, Quintessa wants to "wake up" Unicron so, Earth *shouldn't* be destroyed because that will kill Unicron??

Quintessa gets OP to do one thing, but then goes to Earth to do the opposite?? Maybe I read things wrong?

Based on the hype, I assumed it was something like this:

    OPTIMUS (FACING AWAY)

I have realized that I am no longer fit to lead. My time as Prime had come to an end. It is time for a new leader.

OPTIMUS TURNS AND THE MATRIX EMERGES FROM HIS CHEST. HE HOLDS IT OUT AS THE CAMERA PANS OVER TO HOT ROD, LOOKING CONFUSED.

    Arise, RODIMUS PRIME!

Yeah, when I read it in a PM I was a bit disappointed too. There's really nothing amazing about it, maybe that Quintessa apparently has a human form as well but that's about it. It's obvious that Unicron is in the movie and that he's slowly awakening, so it's not hard to do the math and figure out he'll do more stuff in future films.

Unicron is Earth, yes, but you don't think a giant cosmic titan unfolding beneath our world wouldn't completely rip it apart?

Earth as we know it would absolutely be destroyed once Unicron is awakened. I actually like it, because Unicron as Earth was my legitimately favourite plot point from Prime. It was an ambitious, ballsy creative decision completely botched because Prime would never have the budget to explore it, and rendered Unicron as just an angry rock monster. But the Bay movies, if nothing else, love their giant spectacle destruction, so I'm totally okay with Unicron being Urf all along.

Ok I see what you're saying, that makes sense. I guess I was thinking that 'destroy' meant like how Alderaan was destroyed: completely blown up/crushed/vaporized or something like that :p  , so earth would go and Unicron with it.

Given how the spoiler thread was going, I was expecting something like, Rodimus Prime, or a Unicron face appearing on the Earth, or Unicron reformatting all the dead Decepticons. Of course the main villain wants to wake up Unicron, why else would you even bring in a plot element like that?

That's a big problem with it, there won't ever be a full-sized Earth-icron transformation because no TF series (outside of comic books) would have the balls to actually destroy Earth. And even if it's accomplished, what is he going to attack? The Moon?

Is that it? talk about disappointment and I'm going to be brutally honest with you guys and Alot of people are going to hate me for this, but I honestly don't give a shit about Unicron at all, that's why I am against it and did not believe it when I read about it on the spoilers thread.

A movie Unicron could have been really good story wise (hypothetically, just roll with me here).

So in TLK, Cybertron is gone forever now, so seemingly Transformers have nowhere else to live but the Moon and the Earth, which is filled with foolish murdering humans. Unicron as his own planet, and Megatron could have come to a perfect partnership. Unicron serves as a new mechanical home for Transformers, and destroys Earth and humanity forever for Megatron, as payback for the events of the previous films. While Megatron kills the Autobots and destroys the Matrix for Unicron, and he'd want to do the former anyway.

Unicron would still eat other worlds along with all their inhabitants, but Megatron wouldn't care. It's suits the character really well, taking the selfishness of his motivation to the extreme: He gets to have a planet for Transformers, and doesn't care it literally devours others to sustain itself. But even with a deal that gives him almost everything he wanted, he still isn't content with being second in command to someone else. So a similar conclusion to the '86 movie: Megatron seizes the Matrix thinking he can subdue Unicron with it, which enrages him. With the deal now broken , Unicron decides to settle matters himself and kill everything on Earth's surface (and all remaining Transformers) with the power of his robot form, setting the stage for the movie's last battle.

But instead, with Unicron being Earth, I can't see TF6 going any direction other than "Oh no, Unicron's going to awaken, get the Mcguffin to stop him, whew we stopped him and now Earth is totally normal, and no serious damage that could have offended international audiences occurred!"
