Well folks I was going to hold off on writing anything new for awhile but after having a bit of free time this week I couldn't help but start on a new story. This is NOT in the same timeframe as my previous three fan fictions (though I did keep a few elements I liked a lot from it), in fact as you'll read it is in no timeframe other than its own. Consider it a What If/ Elseworlds story and you'll be fine. I have a nother chapter done, but I'd like to kind of guage your reaction through any comments and crits I get after the epilogue...so please feedback would be great!!! Thanks, and hope you enjoy
The instances we are privy to read are from a time and place not of our own. Many times we are caught up in the familiar we cannot help but cling to what we know and are not able to welcome that which could be beautiful, wonderful new experiences. Let go of what you know, get out of your comfort zone as we enter the unfamiliar world in which many faces that might have brought warmth and reassurance could now oppose that which you stand for, and vise versa…let us enter a time and place so far distant in the future, our great grandchildren’s great grandchildren would be long forgotten, sleeping eternally in peace as the dust. Embrace the unknown… Epilogue:History of this Universe 2005-2405 A.D. Megatron never made it to Autobot City on Earth. Starscream enacted his plan to overthrow his commander seconds before he gave the command to attack the Autobot Shuttle he had planned to board by force and use as a Trojan Horse to gain access to Earth. Left for dead floating through space, Megatron watched barely conscious as Starscream took command of his forces, and gave the order to attack the ‘real threat’…the Autobots’ Moon Base. It would be the last sight he took in for several hundred years… 2405-2440 A.D. Optimus Prime rallied his forces and fought off Starscream’s attack on the Moon Bases with relative ease. With added Help from Ultra Magnus’ Autobot contingent on Earth, Prime forced Starscream’s Decepticons away, even to their own doorstep on Cybertron. After a fierce battle, the Autobots emerged the victor, driving the Decepticons off Cybertron to a distant planet called Charr. In the aftermath, some Autobots and Decepticons were badly damaged in the fracas, causing human beings siding with each group to bond with their bodies, creating Headmasters. Taking the procedure one step further, Decepticons created Targetmasters, Autobots gaining the technology through the means of Raindance, one of Blaster’s cassettes. Micromaster technology was also developed. Optimus Prime left the small group of diminutive Autobots behind on earth in hiding to watch as guardians of the planet. Some Micromasters defected to the Decepticon side. Battles ensued in secret, but remained located on earth. Awaking from a slumber spanning several millennia, the dark force of nature Unicron began his trek to Cybertron, the final resting place of his arch nemesis Primus, devouring any planet in this path. Finally, Unicron reached his destination. The Autobots fought the one-sided battle alone, leading to the destruction of most of the planet before Optimus Prime used the Autobot Matrix of Leadership to drive off Unicron and eventually destroy him. Though they suffered the loss of thousands of lives, the Autobots rebuilt their civilization on the crippled Cybertron. Optimus Prime led them for many years in peace. 2440-2999 A.D. For the few years the Autobots enjoyed peace, Starscream built up the Decepticons defenses ruling with a spiteful, iron fist. When he was satisfied with their progress he ordered a full-scale assault on Earth. Ultra Magnus managed to hold the Decepticons at bay long enough for Optimus Prime to send reinforcements to match Starscream’s now-mighty army. The Autobots gradually gained the upper hand once again. To provide adequate time for a retreat, Rumble and Frenzy were sent to the forefront of the army to activate their pile drivers and create a fissure between the approaching Autobots and the retreating Decepticons. Instead of an adequate-sized fissure, the ground was rent in twain, swallowing up several members of both armies. Optimus Prime and Starscream watched as many valued soldiers vanished from sight into the planet’s core. The Decepticons used the distraction to retreat back to Cybertron where they hid in silence for hundreds of years. Optimus uprooted Autobot City on earth and relocated the pathetically small body of Autobots to Cybertron, where they mourned the loss of their comrades. 2999-3005 A.D. The Autobots buoyed up their emotionally ravaged leader and became industrious, rebuilding Iacon and turning the nearby surrounding area into a sprawling Mecca, providing more than enough room for their small surviving band. Work began on the uprooted Autobot city from earth to create what would become known as Metroplex. Perceptor and Wheeljack began work on a new form of Cybertronian life, which would consume less energon, and would mass shift when transformed into a smaller state. Spike Witwicky, Cerebros and Fortress Maximus took a small group consisting of Autobots and a handful of Decepticon prisoners of war and left Cybertron to colonize a primitive world in order to achieve peace. Under Cybertron’s surface, Decepticon in-fighting led to several splinter-groups to branch off from Starscream’s forces. Each secret combination was tiny, the Decepticons having lost many more of their numbers on earth then the Autobots. The Predacons began to wage war upon Starscream’s group, as did another small group led by an upstart named Sweeps who reigned over the remaining Headmasters and Targetmasters as well as a select few sympathizers of their cause against Starscream. These small-scale wars took place so far under Cybertron’s exterior, the Autobots and were blissfully unaware of their existence. This time period lasted three hundred years by the account of earthlings. Only having his physical body destroyed by the Matrix, Unicron’s psyche survived, searching for the means of creating a new body. He created a herald, named Galvatron, to infiltrate and unite the Decepticon factions and destroy Optimus Prime and the Autobots. Galvatron was granted no memory of his creation. He awoke in a sea of plasma liquid, immediately vaporizing the asteroid and searched out others of his kind. Guiding his creation with the subtleties of a devil, Unicron led Galvatron to Cybertron where he immediately overtook Sweeps’ splinter group. The Predacons soon swore allegiance to Galvatron. The powerful group attacked and wrested control of the Decepticons from Starscream’s grip. Starscream succumbed to Galvatron’s command and became a subordinate…until other plans could be made to regain his leadership of the Decepticons. 3005-3050 A.D. Galvatron led his Decepticons out from the core of Cybertron to attack Iacon. The city was quickly overthrown, this time forcing the Autobots into hiding. Ultra Magnus is killed by Six Shot and Optimus Prime is separated from the other Autobots and is not seen or heard from for many years. The Dinobots were targeted and deactivated by Devastator, Predaking and Abominus. Computron is also rendered useless. Grapple and Hoist managed to retrieve their bodies and put them into a secret secure place. Matrix revealed to be only a shard of a more powerful whole as Hot Rod finds another piece, becoming Rodimus Prime and surrogate leader of the Autobots. Over the space of twenty earthen years they were hunted by Decepticons, many being captured and brought to the Decepticon citadel in Polyhex. Bombshell reproduces Wheeljack and Perceptor’s work, creating their own breed of fuel-efficient mass-shifting warriors. 3050-3260 A.D. Ironhide, Blaster, and Jetfire mount an attack force with the remaining Autobots to break into Polyhex’s citadel to free their captive friends. Decepticon guards are destroyed except one: a new breed soldier hand picked by Galvatron himself named Dinobot who did not fully embrace the Decepticon cause. Knowing his best option at the moment was to go with the Autobots, he freed the prisoners and escaped the citadel. Galvatron marks Dinobot as a traitor and vows to see him destroyed. Soundwave determines the location of the Autobots’ hiding place and the Decepticons are unleashed to attack and destroy them once and for all. The Autobots fight valiantly but cannot stand against Galvatron’s might. Optimus Prime reveals himself at the turn of the tide and bests Galvatron in hand-to-hand combat. Omega Supreme banishes Galvatron and Six Shot to a remote, unnamed galaxy. The armies uneasily separate to rebuild their armies. Whichever army to gain strength first would surely gain control of what was left of Cybertron. Only time would reveal these answers. 3260-3680 A.D. Over the course of the next few hundred years, both armies gradually built strength anew. Starscream regains control of the Decepticons in the absence of Galvatron. Optimus and Rodimus Prime condition a strong Autobot army. The new breed of Autobots and Decepticons grow into Maximals and Predacons respectively, and most of their number leave Iacon and Polyhex to branch off of their ancestors becoming their own entities. Hundreds more years pass in silence. An unknown Decepticon by the name of Jetstorm arrives from parts unknown. Aided by two powerful subordinates: Hotfoot, a fellow Decepticon and a Predacon called Hornet, Jetstorm declares himself rightful leader of the Decepticons and challenges Starscream. Starscream is beaten in combat by the more powerful Jetstorm, who takes command and leads the Decepticons to many unsuccessful attacks on the Autobots. 3680-3683 A.D. Cybertron is attacked by a powerful entity known as Amun. Many Autobots and Decepticons are injured at his hand. The Dinobots are reactivated with the help of the twin Matrixes and through brute force drive Amun away from Iacon. Wheeljack and Hoist create three new combining Autobots: Rail Spike, Midnight Express, and Rapid Run. Inexperienced, Rail Spike callously disobeys orders from Optimus Prime and takes his team straight to Amun, combining into Rail Racer and engaging him hand-to-hand. Though he is eventually beaten, Rail Racer is able to severely wound Amun. 3683-3685 A.D. Amun continues to scourge the Autobots and less powerful Decepticons, even wounded posing a major threat to their existence. Devastator and Abominus are rendered useless. Optimus Prime is wounded in battle. Jetfire discovers yet another piece of the Matrix buried far beneath Iacon’s foundation, however is not reformatted nor are any of the other Autobots who come in contact with it. Rodimus Prime orders a new body to be created in a last ditch effort to utilize the Matrix sliver. While this is being completed, Grapple and Hoist secretly build a device that would shower the immediate area with condensed energon particles with the intention of healing the wounded on the battlefield. Without Rodimus Primes’ blessing, they activated the device. The energon particles blanketed Iacon and worked a little too well. In addition to achieving their original goal of repairing their friends and allies, Hoist and Grapple’s device inadvertently restored Amun to full strength as well. With the sudden savage assault from Amun, the Autobots were forced underneath Iacon to regroup. 3685-3700 A.D. With the body created to house the Matrix piece finished, Rodimus, Jetfire, Wheeljack, and Ironhide ceremoniously insert the third Matrix into the inert form. After an uncomfortable time of silence, the body twitches and becomes active. Named Delta Prime by Rodimus, he is sent to the surface with a group of Autobots to engage Amun in battle again. When all other means of attack were exhausted, Delta brashly emerged from hiding and contended with Amun hand-to-hand. Astonishing all those who were present, Delta Prime had the ability to add power and armor to himself using parts from his excess vehicle mode equipment. Amun was injured again, though he was still powerful enough to force Delta to withdraw his attack. Frustrated at his failure, Delta Prime’s energy level grew with his anger. Matrix energy enveloped him, as well as a nearby soldier named Magnum. Soon one towering Autobot stood in the place of two. Wasting no time, Omega Prime unleashed his full energies upon Amun. The evil warrior fell, badly damaged but not slain. Omega Prime separated into Delta Prime and Magnum, and the former went forth to question Amun on his unprovoked attack upon them. The warrior had no recollection of why or by what means he had waged war upon Cybertron. Unicron withdrew his energy from Amun’s frame as quickly and silently as he imparted his being upon it, disappointed in his surrogate frame’s performance. He began his search for materials to create a new body once again with renewed fervor. 3700-3750 A.D. As the Autobots rebuilt Iacon, they are attacked by the Decepticons, now led by a mysterious figurehead called Scourge who had deposed both Jetstorm and Starscream in one fell swoop. An underground force of Decepticons and Predacons bolstered the Decepticon ranks and fought fiercely. Rodimus and Delta Primes lead the Autobots to a successful battle against the Decepticon troops, but are appalled when Scourge reveals himself as a dark version of their beloved Optimus Prime. Scourge dispatches Delta before he can utilize his great power, and trades blows with Rodimus. Moments before Rodimus could be hewn down by Scourge’s powerful blade, Optimus Prime, fully restored and battle ready, called to his doppelganger to halt and offered a challenge. Scourge was more than happy to oblige Optimus and quickly gained the upper hand in battle. Scourge is driven away by Amun, seeking remission for his sins against the Autobots, and takes his Decepticons and Predacons back to Polyhex. Amun reveals he has seen one other being bearing the Decepticon sigil during his journeys before his unexplained possession. The one bearing that sigil was called Megatron. 3750-3760 A.D. Scourge continued to lead the Decepticons against the Autobots in a never-ending thirst to take Optimus Prime’s life. During the climactic battle of this time period, Optimus Prime gained the higher ground and disarmed Scourge of his powerful blade. With his weapon aimed securely at Scourge, he demanded his dark mirror image explain his history; why they looked alike and why he harbored a deep grudge against him. Scourge revealed he did not always appear as he did at the present moment. He was once a faithful soldier of Optimus Prime’s named Twilight. He had been included on the roster to accompany Prime and the others to search for energon millennia ago…the same fateful mission that left the Autobots and Decepticons inactive on a prehistoric planet that would become earth. When the Decepticons led by Shockwave attacked the launch pad the Autobot shuttle was preparing to take off of, Optimus shut the doors and unknowingly left Twilight behind to become badly damaged by Dirge and Blitzwing. Left for dead, Twilight managed to drag himself to safety and spent the next millions of years repairing and upgrading himself in the image of the one who’s betrayal left him broken and scarred. Optimus Prime watched as Scourge retreats and returns with his armies to Polyhex. 3760-3775 A.D. The Decepticons are not heard from for ten years. Injuries are repaired and the factions are made whole again. Rumors of a powerful being floating through the cosmos, draining planets of their energy at its leisure reach Cybertron. Whispers spread like wildfire of Unicron’s return but find no merit. Scourge rallied his Decepticons for one last attack on Iacon. They never reached the Autobot city as Scourge was struck down from the forefront of his army by a powerful being from the sky. The Decepticons watched in awe as Megatron, their former commander they thought long dead, descended from above and claimed the Decepticons pledge their allegiance to him or be destroyed. When none stood against him, he ordered Scourge repaired and the Decepticons stay in Polyhex, building power and resources for the following fifteen years. 3775-4000 A.D. Megatron lead a brutal attack on Iacon that nearly levels the city. Before he could order his army to administer the final advance to me made, he received word of strange energy patterns originating above Polyhex. In an instant, Cybertron receives another crippling blow as the energy from an unknown source incinerated Polyhex and the Decepticons stationed there. Megatron ordered a retreat from Iacon and took his armies to the depth of space where the Decepticon Citadel at Polyhex once stood. In its place sat a gigantic armored machine, a single eye keeping watch on its precipice. Enraged, Megatron ordered his Decepticons to destroy the intruder. The attack was brief as several Decepticons quickly lost their lives. Megatron ordered another retreat. Unknowing what to do about this powerful entity, he gave the call to return to Iacon. Once back at the Autobot’s city, the Decepticons threw down their arms. Megatron demanded an audience with Optimus Prime. Optimus Prime sympathizes with Megatron’s plight and an uneasy alliance is forged between the factions in an attempt to fight off the mechanical dreadnaught. 4000-4200 A.D. Numerous battles were fought with this near-invincible being called the Technoform for Two Hundred and Twenty Five years. Many lives were lost on both sides, and the truce began to wear thin. Multiple S.O.S. signals were sent by both factions. Leaving the Primes in charge of the armies, Megatron left Cybertron in secret with Astrotrain to search out a being fabled as being more powerful than even he himself. Finally his search found success. On a faraway planet, Galvatron and Six Shot lay in forced shutdown, still serving their banishment by the Autobots. Megatron reactivated Galvatron and Six Shot ordering them to return to Cybertron to aid in the destruction of the Technoform. A failsafe implanted into Galvatron’s psyche by Unicron at his creation activated and Galvatron pledged allegiance to Megatron. When they returned to Cybertron, they found many Autobots and Decepticons thought long dead and buried in earth’s core had actually survived and scattered themselves across the universe. Receiving the distress signals, they made their way back to Cybertron and bolstered the ranks of the decimated armies. Galvatron manages to deactivate the force field surrounding the Technoform that had previously prevented any harm to come to it. The Cybertronian army pressed forward but still could not muster the means to destroy the Technoform. More Autobots, Decepticons, Predacons and Maximals join the battle but the Technoform is still able to maintain a stranglehold over the Cybertronian forces. When it seemed all hope was lost, Fortress Maximus returned to Cybertron. Though his teams’ numbers are few, he himself manages to drive the Techonoform away from Cybertron. Spike has survived thousands of years thanks to his connection to Cybertronian technology. During his time on the planet Badune, he managed to utilize Micromaster technology and create a new type of Autobot and Decepticon that, when connected to a larger Transformer, could raise the combined overall power significantly. These Micromasters were called ‘Minicons’. A Decepticon that left Cybertron with Cerebros named Xenon took the other Decepticons on the force and defected to Megatron’s side. Because the Technoform had not been destroyed and would surely return, Optimus Prime attempted to keep the truce intact, but the millennia of inherent tension crumbled all hopes of that. The Decepticons rebuilt Polyhex and the Autobots remained and rebuilt Iacon. 4200-4300 A.D. A fourth shard of the Matrix whole is found and after a body could be constructed, another Autobot Prime was born. The Matrix shard gave the body immense strength and endurance and was thus named Maximus Prime. Maximus Prime originally rebelled against Optimus Prime and nearly defected to the Decepticons. It took Omega Prime and Amun to reign in Maximus Prime’s ambitions. After repenting of his transgressions, Maximus agrees to obey the Autobot code and live up to the standards of his mantel as a Prime. Cerebros handed over his forces to Maximus Prime. A strange unseen being begins to attack individual Autobots and Decepticons while they are alone away from their cities, draining their bodies of energon but leaving them alive. Megatron sends out Starscream and the entire Decepticon air armada to dispose of this unseen assailant. Starscream‘s forces find this being and attack it. After defeating the air armada he reveals himself as Gigatron, a powerful Decepticon with mysterious motives. Starscream begins to make a deal with him in exchange for command of the Decepticon armies but is rendered nearly inactive by Megatron who had tracked his air armada after a long period of silence. Gigatron went into hiding and could not be found. The Technoform returned, fully powered and with renewed vigor to suck every ounce of energy from the crippled Cybertron. The Decepticons and Autobots joined forces to fight their mutual enemy once again. After many battles over the course of many years, it seemed the Technoform would succeed in its efforts. Although the folling information is hazy at best, some say a mysterious Autobot resembling a smaller version of Maximus Prime appeared and with no warning initiated a self-destruct, the power of the ensuing blast deeply injuring the Technoform. Another Autobot none recognized appeared to have accompanied the one who sacrificed himself. The name of this Autobot was Notch, and neither he nor his Minicon partner would give any answers to the questions asked. When more power was needed, Wheeljack, Perceptor and Ratchet created Nova, an Autobot that had the capability to combine with Maximus Prime. It was only through the combined power of this Jet Prime and Omega Prime, backed up by the entire Cybertronian army that the Technoform was finally able to be damaged. Coming out of hiding, Gigatron transformed into a gigantic hand, plucking the eye of the Technoform from its body, rendering it blind. The Minicons added power to Jet Prime and made it possible for him to finally destroy the Technoform. 4300-4375 A.D.In the aftermath of the battle with the Technoform, Optimus Prime called for an evacuation of Iacon as energon supplies run out. Megatron had begrudgingly come to the same conclusion and prepared to uproot his army from Polyhex. Not wanting to leave Cybertron barren, Optimus left Delta Prime, Maximus Prime and their respective soldiers behind to keep watch. Xenon and Scourge conceal themselves as the Decpticons leave Polyhex and stay behind with their followers as well. The two sides contend with one another many times for possession of energon. Gigatron sides with Scourge and takes command of his forces. Though considerably weak from his power expendature in dealing with the Technoform, Gigatron is still powerful. Delta Prime’s hotheaded actions cost them many battles against Scourge and Gigatron’s team. On the other side of the spectrum, Maximus Prime’s team had Xenotron’s followers completely under control as they worked as a fully functional unit. During this time many protoforms are turned into troops, bolstering all the groups. Maximus Prime has visions through his Matrix of the Technoform’s eye revealing it was only sent to pave the way for a bigger threat that was on its way to Cybertron. Maximus sends the message to Optimus Prime, though is not sure the message was received. With the help of the former Predacon Dinobot, Delta Prime organizes his team and trains them to be a cohesive unit. Maximus Prime builds his power and is able to condense his bulk into a smaller more powerful frame. Though none put the pieces together, when in this powered up mode Maximus looked identical to the Autobot that sacrificed himself to damage the Technoform. When other strange Autobots and Decepticons appear Notch revealed he is from a bleak future in which the Technoform destroys the Primes and Megatron, leaving the Cybertronian army scattered and without order. He and his Minicon partner, Incinerator, accompanied the Maximus Prime of his time to the past to change the course of events leading to his bleak time. Gigatron is also revealed to be from this future, though notch is unsure of how or why he came to this time period. Maximus Prime receives another vision of the Technoform in which it strongly hints the entity on its way to Cybertron is none other then Unicron himself. 4375-4500 A.D. Optimus Prime and Megatron returned to Cybertron after many distress signals are sent informing them of the severity of the situation. Megatron retook Xenon and Gigatron’s forces. Delta Prime began a search for Vector Sigma in an attempt to revive fallen Autobots and Decepticons in order to prepare for Unicron’s second coming. Maximus Prime’s visions of the Technoform stop entirely. Years pass as the combined Cybertronian armies build their forces and energon levels as one. Roughly 4480 A.D. Delta Prime finally found the long lost chamber of Vector Sigma, and plead with the ancient supercomputer to revive the fallen soldiers to fight against Unicron once again. Vector Sigma complied, granting many lost sparks their bodies once again. These Maximals, predacons, Autobots and Decepticons bolstered the ranks of the army by a large number and gave the planet a slight sense of hope. In addition to this, he granted the Decepticons the fabled Decepticon Matrix of Power, which Megatron hid out of fear of treason. Fifteen more years passed as the powerful Cybertronian army continued to prepare for the Battle for Cybertron. When Unicron finally made himself known, he revealed he was much smaller in size but just as potent as his previous incarnation as he immediately wiped out a section of the army. He ordered Galvatron to join him and destroy Cybertron, however Galvatron, having gained a sense of greed and self-loyalty, attacked his master. Unicron repaid him by incinerating him with his two closest subordinates, Cyclonus and Sweeps. The Battle for Cybertron against Unicron was relatively short compared to other battles, only lasting five years. The Cybertronian army, even with the revived soldiers stood little chance against Unicron and was gradually worn down. In desperation, Starscream rallied most of the remaining Decepticons and went on an offensive, but none survived. Fortress Maximus was thrown far beyond the borders of the war zone and was not seen the remainder of the battle. Only a few in number were left, knowing they stood no chance against Unicron. The Maximal called Tigerhawk used his vast elemental powers to finally do a small amount of damage to Unicron, exacerbated by the remaining few Predacons, Maximals and Dinobots’ savage attack. Though his new, more easily damaged frame was severely injured, Unicron still managed to decimate them all, now leaving only a core group of eleven plus several Minicons to stand between Unicron and the destruction of their home. Optimus Prime ordered Megatron to hand the Decepticon Matrix over to him. With several objections, Megatron finally agreed to hand it over. Taking his own Autobot Matrix of Leadership from his chest cavity, Optimus Prime bravely confronted Unicron and threatened him with both Matrices. Optimus managed to get close enough to throw the Matrices into a wound in Unicron’s midsection and ordered those left to hit Unicron with all the energy they could muster. Jet Prime, with another Autobot called Overload formed a combination called Sentinal Prime, and took on the remaining Minicons. Aided by Tigerhawk the two sent a fireblast toward Unicron that seemed to destroy the very matter in the air. Nothing is written beyond this point. and This is where our story begins….

Chapter 1 Strange Familiarity The rough roads felt surprisingly good under Off-Road’s tires. He was not usually the type to wander off alone, however something in his spark just compelled him to find solitude. His mind snapped back to attention from his serenity as he realized exactly how far he had traveled. The monumental statuesque figure was just as imposing in inactivity as it was in life. Off-Road’s tires squealed as he hit his brakes and swerved to avoid the single reminder of Cybertron’s bitter past. As he transformed, he felt a surge run up his spinal column as he beheld Unicron’s frozen features, anger and surprise still vividly etched across his face. He lingered only a moment to gaze into the dark eyes that had once exhumed such undying hatred and envy over the inhabitants of Cybertron. As he turned to make the trek back to Iacon, he saw something in the distant sky above the planet. His curiosity getting the best of him, he waited until it came into view a bit better before making a reaction. The small ship did not appear to be hostile…in fact it seemed to be casually coming in for a landing as if it had done so thousands of times before… “Off-Road reporting into headquarters.” He said into a speaker on his wrist, “We might have visitors…” “Visitors? Here?” a voice snarled back, “We never get ‘visitors’ here. Maybe you should lay off the energon Off-Road.” “Listen Sunspot, I’m out here witnessing this ship landing just over the ridge from my location, so you can not believe me and take the risk of outsiders attacking us upon your head, or you can send the others out to check it out.” “Fine, fine.” Sunspot sneered. “What’s your location?” Off-Road winced and sighed. “I’m…I’m at Unicron’s Monument.” “Ohhhh you’re gonna get it.” Sunspot laughed. “But that can wait…we’ll be out to join you soon. Try not to mess things up before we can get there.” Off-Road disgustedly shut off his transmitter and walked to the edge of the cliff to watch the ship as it made it’s landing in a smooth patch of ground in the valley below. After a few moments, the hatch opened and two small figures exited the ship… ********************************************** “This is Cybertron right?” “I’m positive…I mean how many other big metal planets could be out there?” “I dunno…it just seems…different. I don’t remember it being this damaged…” “I know what you mean Windcharger…but this is Cybertron. It feels like home.” “Ok, you win Brawn. I mean…we have been away from the others for almost three thousand years thanks to those morons Rumble and Frenzy back on earth…” “Yeah remind me that I owe those sawed-off punks a good beat down if they’re still around…” Brawn chuckled. “You got it.” Windcharger answered as he took a look around the clearing. “Yeah this is Cybertron…but something seems wrong…why didn’t Iacon answer our landing requests?” “Ah, Blaster’s probably just changing up the frequency so nothing crosses over…I’m sure he’s done that a thousand times over the years.” “Yeah you’re probably right…” “You know I am…now come on buddy, let’s find some familiar faces…” As Brawn and Windcharger began to walk towards the hillside, they were thrown to the ground as their ship inexplicably exploded behind them. “Did we land in Decepticon territory?!” Windcharger yelled as they rolled for cover. “Attention intruders:” a voice rang out from above them. “You are ordered to climb to the top of the hill and present valid identification and explanation why you’ve come to Cybertron unannounced.” Brawn nodded to Windcharger. The two had worked together for so long, they could practically tell what the other was thinking and make plans in silence. They raised their hands above their heads and slowly climbed to the top of the hill. Several transformers of various sizes were waiting for them at the top, though they didn’t recognize any of them. One of the larger ones, a primarily dark red and white one, walked towards them. Brawn pointed out an Autobot insignia that was visible on most of the transformers and attempted to explain they were Autobots themselves but was cut off. “You have no right to speak without our consent.” The dark red and white one said. He didn’t seem to have his spark into making demands to the smaller Autobots, almost as if he was being forced into doing so. “You are intruders here. Now, identify yourselves and explain why you’ve come to Cybertron.” Windcharger stepped forward. “I am Windcharger and my companion is called Brawn. If you would have allowed us to speak, you would know that we are Autobots as well.” He explained, pointing to the sigin located on their interrogator. “We are from Cybertron.” “Impossible.” Another Autobots, a smaller brown one said. “With the exception of but a few scattered cities, those who came before us have been extinct for five hundred years during the second coming of Unicron.” The first Autobot held up his hand to quiet down the second one. “Strongarm is correct. Unicron killed all that was left of the ancient civilization of Cybertron.” “We weren’t on Cybertron to fight this…Unicron.” Brawn piped up. “We were separated from the rest of our forces while battling the Decepticons on the planet earth three thousand years ago. We only just recently had the means of finding a spacecraft capable of bringing us across the galaxies to Cybertron. And now thanks to you, we don’t even have that anymore…” Windcharger patted Brawn on the shoulder to calm him down. The big Autobot looked behind him to the others who seemed to be processing the new information. “Let me just blast ‘em!” a bright yellow Autobot yelled out. “They’ve gotta be ousider spies!” “Or Decepticons…” A small white one with wings branching off from his arms added. “They’re not Decepticons.” The first Autobot said. “We have what’s left of their kind completely under control…and no one is shooting anyone.” While the argument continued, Brawn got Windcharger’s attention, mouthing ‘now’. Windcharger shook his head but Brawn nodded and rushed forward transforming as he did so. Knowing he had to stay with his friend no matter what, Windcharger followed suit. The two small Autobots swerved around their greeting party and sped away as fast as their tires could take them. “This is a bad idea…” Windcharger shouted above the roar of their engines. “What did you want to do, be taken captive by those goons back there? It was obvious they weren’t going to listen to reason!” Before Windcharger could answer he felt himself being lifted off the ground. The small white Autobot who had suggested they could be Decepticons had transformed into a small jet. Utilizing twin three-prong grabber claws, he had Windcharger in a death grip as he gained altitude. “Hey, let him go!” Brawn shouted. The Autobot identified as Strongarm appeared in a futuristic jeep alternate mode from Brawn’s right and slammed into him in an attempt to drive him into the cliff side. Brawn transformed before he could hit the cliff side and rolled to a halt. Strongarm transformed as well and sized up Brawn. “Think you can handle me, small fry?” “Let’s find out!” Brawn shouted as he charged Strongarm and tackled him to the ground. The two struggled as they stood up. Eventually Brawn gained the upper hand and threw the slightly larger Strongarm a short distance away. “Tougher than I expected…” Strongarm admitted as he stood up. Brawn began to run towards his adversary another time, but was blindsided by the yellow Autobot, in his futuristic car alternate mode. Brawn heard transformation sounds as he pushed himself off the ground. He found himself looking down the barrel of a rifle and stopped moving. “Just give me a reason to melt you down…” the Autobot sneered. “That’s enough Sunspot.” The first Autobot ordered. Off-Road stood behind the dark red and while figurehead with Windcharger in his grasp. “Aw, Apollo you never let us have any fun.” Sunspot whined as he harnessed his weapon. “If wanton violence is ‘fun’ then no, I will not grant you ‘fun’.” “What do we do with them now?” A red Autobot the same size as Sunspot asked. “Our leader is on his way to inspect these two as we speak, Blaze.” Apollo answered. On cue, the sounds of a large transport could be heard a short distance away. The large figure transformed and jumped down the hillside. Brawn and Windcharger could hardly believe their optics…though the Autobots ‘leader’ appeared to be heavily modified, the basic looks were undeniable and too familiar to be ignored… “Optimus Prime…is that you?”
Fantastic! Most in depth Fan Fic, so far, I have ever read. Very impressed with Chapter 1 and I hope to see more soon.
Wow, thanks for the praise man it's vey much appreciated! I have through chapter four done, so I'll definitely have chapter 2 up tomorrow. Any other crits would be appreciated, I'd really like to know how people like it!. Thanks again Gnaw, you rock!
Yeah no problem...it'll probably be awhile until it's completed but as soon as it is, I can email you a word document or something like that
Chapter 2Dire Straits “That name has no meaning here.” The leader gruffly barked. He abruptly turned to Apollo. “Who are they?” “They say they are Autobots…from the ancient days of Cybertron.” “Preposterous.” He snapped back. “The only Autobots are here.” “But…they have Autobot insignias identical to ours…They could be telling the truth…” Blaze quietly offered. The leader became angry and pointed at the smaller red Autobot “So you will take them just by their word? The word of two unknown transformers we know little to nothing about? Last I checked I was in command of this unit, not you Blaze.” Blaze looked down to the ground in silence. The leader turned his attention back to Brawn, then to Windcharger. “Take these intruders back to Iacon. Lock them in the lower levels until they tell us the truth.” Apollo nodded. “Right away, Morpheous Prime.” ********************************************** The red eyes watched as the Autobots transformed and took their prisoners away. As they disappeared into the distance, the skulking figure quickly transformed into a small jet and took off in the opposite direction. In no time he reached his destination; the crumbling ruins of what used to be the proud citadel in the Decepticon stronghold of Polyhex. He transformed, landing just outside the ruins and squeezed his way between two fallen pillars. Underneath the rubble was a small area that was dimly powered by waning energon supplies. The spy walked through the entrance and through a doorway at the far end into a larger room that seemed to have suffered less devastation over the years. The lighting of the room was even worse then that of the entrance. A voice called out to him the instant he entered. “Smokejumper, what did you find.” The raspy voice demanded. “No energon.” He answered in frustration. “However the Autobots have taken two prisoners of unknown origin to Iacon…” “The Autobots prisoners are of no use to me!” the raspy voice shouted, followed by a series of weak coughs. “We must find more energon…our survival depends on it…gather the others…we must return to Unicron’s Monument and find what I’ve been searching five hundred accursed years for…” “Immediately, commander.” Smokejumper saluted as he exited the room. ********************************************** Off-Road and Sunspot lead Brawn and Windcharger through weathered corridors in the Autobot city of Iacon. Iacon had vastly changed from what the two old Autobots remembered, it had mainly been built underground rather then on the surface. Unbeknownst to them, this unkertaking had started during Galvatron’s reign of the Decepticons, forcing the Autobots to hole up underground in armored bunkers. When they reached a floor about six levels below the surface, Sunspot turned and unlocked a door using an energy key. “Alright, here’s your stop…how long you rot in here depends on you.” Off-Road pushed them into the room gently. “I’m sorry for all this…please think everything through carefully…” As Sunspot slammed the door, Brawn and Windcharger could hear him verbally berate Off-Road in the hallway. “Don’t apologize to them you idiot! Morpheous is gonna throw you in there for sympathizing with intruders! They’re as loony as the other one in there.” Windcharger looked around the room to see if he could see the ‘other one’ they had been imprisoned with. His optics squinted in the darkness, barely taking in any sight. “So you found how well they trust those they don’t know…” Brawn and Windcharger jumped and looked in the direction the voice came from. A mid-sized transformer was walking towards them, a tiny one at his side. Brawn prepared to take a defensive stance but relaxed when Windcharger pointed out the Autobot insignia on his chest. “He’s one of us…” “Yes, I am an Autobot. I am called Notch…this Minicon is known as Incinerator.” “How long have they kept you in this room?” Brawn asked. “Not long by our standards, only a few years. I was found outside and was accused of being an intruder…much like how you came to be here I’m sure.” “You came online in the bunkers…what do you mean?” Windcharger asked. “I was wounded while fighting Unicron and dragged myself away from the battlefield where I went offline for many years. My internal repair systems were able to patch up my damage and bring me back online, but the instant I was found I was brought before Morpheous Prime. I told him all of what had happened, but he sentenced me here. I don’t even know how the great Battle for Cybertron ended.” “If that big statue outside is Unicron…it seems like he lost.” Brawn said. “Though I don’t see how these poor excuses for Autobots could have beaten him…” “Yes that is Unicron.” Notch nodded. None of these Autobots were present for the battle…I don’t have the slightest idea where they could have come from…” “How have you survived?” “Off-Road or Blaze…they aren’t as stubborn as the others…they sneak down energon supplies to us in secret.” “Notch, tell me…” Windcharger asked as he could not contain his questions any longer, “Who did you fight for during that war that took so many lives?” “A great leader named Optimus Prime.” Windcharger looked to Brawn. “This can’t be happening…Prime can’t be dead…” “Let’s not jump to conclusions.” Brawn said back, “He could be in hiding.” “Honestly that’s highly improbable.” Notch sighed, “There were only a handful left fighting Unicron when I went offline. I’d assume Optimus Prime is the reason behind Unicron’s defeat.” “Plus Morpheous has sent his team across what’s left of Cybertron and knows virtually all of the inhabitants left on the planet. Optimus Prime gave his life to save Cybertron.” Incinerator added in a small voice. Brawn and Windcharger sat in silence as they took in their situation. Optimus Prime and all they knew had been lost for five hundred years since the Battle for Cybertron. They were prisoners of an Autobot group led by a distrustful Prime imposter that would not listen to any word they said. “Is there any way out of this room?” Brawn asked softly. “Breaking out is impossible.” Said Incinerator, “I’ve scoured the room myself multiple times.” “Incinerator is right.” Notch added. “The only way to be released is to tell Morpheus the ‘truth’, which would be the complete opposite thereof…After which he would more then likely throw us right back in for being intruders.” “Who does this Morpheous think he is?” Brawn blurted, angry. “I don’t know much about Morpheous Prime.” Notch admitted. “Though he trusts no one save himself and his group. Something must have happened in the past to make him such a bitter shell of an Autobot… no doubt a betrayal of some sort.” “Did Optimus Prime pass the matrix to him?” Windcharger asked. “No, once again none of the Autobots now inhabiting Iacon were present for the Battle for Cybertron. I have only caught bits of history while listening to the others, but it seems he did find the Matrix somehow…though it rejected him. He must have upgraded himself somehow.” The room was silent for a period of time. So much information was given that needed time to sink in completely. Brawn and Windcharger had made it home…but what Cybertron had become was as far from ‘home’ as anything possibly could have been.
To many cliffhangers and it's so suspenful ! I can't wait for the next Chapter. So many questions like: Why is Morpheus Prime such a Dick? and Where is Megatron?. Fantastic work
The answers to your questions will be answered shortly Chapter 3Ghosts of the Past “Quickly now, before the Autobots track us!” Unicron’s ‘Monument’ as it had come to be known, was nothing more then the final spot Unicron had been standing when he had been defeated five hundred years previous. It had become taboo to come near it as whispers of an evil spirit floating around the area became more and more numerous. In their act of desperation, the Decepticons went on a final search for a source of power…the Decepticon Matrix. It was widely known the Autobot Matrix had survived the blast that rang Unicron’s death knoll, thus it was accepted its counterpart must have survived as well. Smokejumper signaled his partner, the much larger and bulkier BB to aid him as they flew up to Unicron’s midsection, the place Optimus Prime had thrown the twin Matrices, and began to excavate. Unicron’s armor was very thick and thus the work was very slow. “Hurry up you idiots…the Autobots could arrive at any moment!” a deep resonating voice called out from below them. “Back off, Scourge.” Smokejumper snapped. “Maybe if you’d actually help us out here, the work would be done that much faster!” “Shut up you fool!” Scourge shouted. “If one more word is uttered before the Matrix is mine…” the raspy voice of the Decepticon leader whispered in a dreadful tone from the shadows, “I will destroy the lot of you without hesitation.” “You won’t destroy any one of us.” Scourge challenged. “There are so few of us left if you kill one of us, you’re doomed.” “You try my patience…” the voice coughed. “Commander, you might want to check this out…we’ve found something!” Smokejumper yelled from above. ********************************************** Off-Road snuck down to the sixth level as silently as his big frame could allow. Under his arm he carried four small energon cubes. He looked around him as he took an energy key out of a storage compartment on his waist and unlocked the door. His transmitter crackled, startling him enough he almost dropped the energon cubes in the process. “This is Off-Road.” He answered. “Apollo just got the signal the Decepticons have traveled from Polyhex to Unicron’s Monument. He needs everyone to prepare to engage.” Strongarm ordered. Off-Road shook his head as he shut off his transmitter. “This’ll be our second trip out there in this cycle…what a waste of energon.” He muttered as he absent-mindedly set the energon cubes down and ran out of the hallway. Behind him, the door creaked open. Windcharger’s head cautiously poked out of the doorway and looked in both directions. “It’s clear! We’re free!” he whispered in joy. He crept into the hallway followed closely by Brawn. Notch opened the door and looked around as well. He stepped into the hallway as if for the first time. As Incinerator exited to room Brawn laughed. “Heh heh…what luck! That big guy just let us escape!” “What’s the plan now?” Windcharger asked as he kept a watchful optic on the stairs at the end of the hallway leading up to the next level. “We help our fellow Autobots.” Notch answered. “What?!” Brawn whispered loudly. “The same Autobots that imprisoned you here for the past few years with no way of escape, that won’t trust us…and you want to help them?!” “What else do you expect to do? There’s nowhere to hide. If we help Morpheous there’s at least the chance he could see we mean him and his group no harm.” “Or do you have a better idea?” Incinerator sarcastically asked. “Fine.” Brawn snapped. “We help them. Do you know the way out of here?” “Yes.” Notch answered. “Follow me.” ********************************************** “The Decepticons are straight ahead.” Apollo reported from the air, in his spacecraft alternate mode. “They seem to be on Unicron’s Monument…but I can’t tell what they’re actually doing.” “Perfect, they’ll be sitting ducks.” Sunspot chortled. “So what’s the plan?” “Sunspot, take Blaze, Off-Road and Strongarm and distract the Decepticons on the ground. Moonrock and I will handle them if they try to escape skyward.” “The old ‘Trapped between a rock and a hard place’ plan…tried but true.” Sunspot laughed. “Let’s do it.” The yellow Autobot sped ahead, followed by Blaze and Strongarm, Off-Road trailing behind a short distance. Sunspot accelerated even more as he went up the hill leading to Unicron’s Monument and launched himself into the air. He skimmed Scourge as he hit the ground, sending sparks flying under the impact. “Autobots!” Scourge shouted as he drew his large red blade, weathered by time. As Blaze and Strongarm got to the top of the hill, Smokejumper and BB had transformed and sent artillery flying towards them. They swerved out of the way, but Off-Road had to slam on his brakes to avoid the missiles. Weak from the lack of energon, Smokejumper and BB’s missiles did not have the power they would under fully energized circumstances, but the detonation still caused Off-Road to flip forward. He transformed in midair and slammed into the ground on his back and few feet from Scourge. “It’s about time my blade tasted the energon of an Autobot after all these years…” Scourge threatened. Off-Road managed to roll away as Scourge’s blade sunk into the ground where we was but a few second before. The bulky Autobot lunged forward and tackled Scourge. “Give it up…we have you surrounded!” “Foolish Autobot, you just made your last mistake!” Scourge kicked Off-Road away and took a swipe at him with his sword. Thanks to dodging at the last moment, Off-Road avoided a blow that would have taken his life but was still wounded as the sharp sword sliced through one of the large pieces of armor jutting out from above his shoulders. Scourge turned his weapon upside down and held it above Off-Road to finish the job. “Give my regards to Optimus Prime, Autobot…” “Off-Road, duck!” Moonrock shouted as he swooped down from above. Scourge bellowed in pain as the small white aircraft raked his back with laser fire. Off-Road took his chance and crawled behind one of Unicron’s massive feet. As Moonrock gained altitude Smokejumper jutted in behind him. He began to fire at the Autobot jet but nothing connected. “Come on Smokejumper, how many times have we been through this?” Moonrock taunted. “You can’t hit anything with your lousy aim!” The small Autobot aircraft spun around and easily outmaneuvered the larger Smokejumper and managed to turn the tables, get behind him and in his sights. Far above the battlefield below an unseen figure watched the skirmish with interest. The battles never changed, never traded places. The Autobots outclassed the Decepticons in every aspect. The Decepticons would grow desperate for energy, be forced off by the Autobots and return to Polyhex to lick their wounds. Starscream got sick of watching the same scene over and over again. As a ghost, he was privy to walk unseen amongst both sides, take in their secrets, their weaknesses. It was time the scene changed… The ethereal ghost stepped off of Unicron’s shoulder and transformed into an equally ethereal shadow of his fighter jet alternate mode. He swooped down towards Smokejumper, and literally through him into his spark. Starscream took control of Smokejumper’s actions and barrel rolled away to flip up and around Moonrock. Starscream powered up his borrowed body’s weapons and fired followed by Moonrock shuddering and plummeting towards the planet, his left wing on fire. Starscream chuckled to himself and prepared to plunge down and finish Moonrock off but something caught his eye approaching from the direction of Iacon. It was a group of four Autobots, one mid sized one, one Minicon and… It couldn’t be… In his shock, he left Smokejumper’s body, transformed into his ghost robot form and stared slack-jawed. He hadn’t seen these Minibots since the last battle on earth thousands of years ago. As they neared Unicron’s Monument he recognized the mid sized Autobot and his Minicon partner. “So, Notch survived…” he mused aloud, something he only did on rare occasions since no one could hear him anyway, “Let’s see how this little theater pans out…”
Also...I'm sure it's pretty easy to figure out these new Autobots are all based on the Energon toys. To make it a bit easier, here's the breakdown on the team, and those that have been renamed: Morpheous Prime=Energon Optimus Prime (Obviously) Apollo=Jetfire Off-Road=Ironhide Sunspot=Hot Shot Blaze=Inferno Moonrock=Skyblast Strongarm obviously had no name change More characters will show up eventually, and the cast will get bigger but it won't be anywhere near the scale of my last three fanfics where I had a multitude of fancharaters mixed in with the tons of established characters. Hope you enjoy it. *edit: oh yeah, and Notch is Armada Blurr*
Hey sorry but I won't be able to post the next chapter tonight...I forgot the disk at work. I was going to go and get it but my Beast wars dvd box sets arrived today and I lost track of time watching it...tomorrow for sure though!
Pretty interesting fanfiction... I like what I see so far and can't wait to see more of the Decepticons. Speaking of which, I assume that the Decepticons we've seen so far (Smokejumper, BB & Scourge) are all based off of the Armada/RID packaged versions of Smokejumper and Dreadwind and RID Scourge. Starscream is obviously his energon self... it'll be interesting to see whom the Decepticon leader actually turns out to be. No doubt you'll probably use Energon Megatron/Galvatron for him, but it'll be interesting to see which of the former Decepticon leaders he is... Megatron, Galvatron, Gigatron, Xonotron... can't wait to find out! Keep up the great work!
