So... Sony still has the rights?

    I don't get it.

It says that Spiderman will be in an MCU movie first before having his own solo movie in 2017, with the script being finished for Civil War can this still be the movie they are planning on having Peter Parker (or Spiderman could be either one if you know what I mean) in?
Will Andrew Garfield still play Peter Parker/Spiderman?

Sounds like they're doing pretty much exactly what I was predicting they would do. Sony keeps the rights, but they work with Disney to put Spider-Man into the existing MCU. Though I was kinda hoping they would keep Garfield on for the role.

Should be interesting to see who they get for it, and how they handle a Spidey movie that's a part of the MCU. Hopefully they either entirely skip his origin, or pull an Incredible Hulk and summarize it via the opening credits.

Probably the best part to this news, is that this should mean every other Spider-Man related movie Sony was trying to get in the works (Secret Shit, Aunt Meh, etc...) will likely be scrapped. Though I kinda hope they still one-day do a Venom movie.

Even if they liked Garfield, they can't really keep him if they are doing movies that ignore past movies of the same character. It would just be confusing for a good portion of the audience. "So he is still Spiderman but the other movies don't count?" Remember that the vast majority of people that will see these movies don't hang out on internet boards devouring movie making info like this. Seeing a new guy play Spiderman helps them realize the past movies don't count towards this one.

Yes I know some actors are replaced in the same series.

    *actually reads articles*

Well, it's a step in the right direction at least.

Any chance they can pull this deal with Fox and block The Less-Than-Fantastic 4 too?

Yay, Spider-man technically back with Marvel studios and part of the Marvel U!
So he will appear in either civil war or Avengers 3. Plus probably the Infinity War. Maybe they will do it right this time.....Also please not another origin story.

I kinda hope this alliance applies to Spider-Woman as well. I don't want Jessica to have a shitty movie made by Sony. :c

Ohhh that also means they can use Jonah, Phil Urich can work at the Bugle.....
Since they just started filming they might be able to sneak JJ into some episodes of Alias

    They can use JJJ
    Bring back JK Simmons!!!!!!!

I am on board with this 100%, provided Simmons is still up for it that is.

The only problem I have with this deal is that the MCU will now apparently end with Inhumans instead of Infinity Wars part II, which....confuses me quite a bit.

Did anyone say the series is gonna end there? I distinctly remember Feige saying they've got plans until 2028 laid out.

I have mixed feelings on this. I think Marvel is going to make a great movie, but I hope they still take risks like Guardians of the Galaxy and don't use Spider-man as a crutch. As glad as I am to see Marvel with the rights back, I can't be the only one that thinks it's ridiculous we're getting a second reboot for the same character in less than ten years. I loved the first Amazing Spider-Man and liked parts of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 even though it was disappointing on the whole. I think they could have gotten one more movie out of this franchise, and I want to see the loose ends to that story tied up. Andrew Garfield was perfect for the role in my opinion, and I think it will be difficult to not see him come back. I also hope Spider-man just isn't shoved into the Cinematic Universe when they clearly have this great plan for Phase 3. It needs to feel natural.

They posted the updated roster of how the movies were going to be pushed back and it showed Inhumans coming after Infinity War Part II.

I'm not disputing that. What I mean is that you said that "the MCU will now apparently end with Inhumans", so I'm asking "wait, is that the end, or is that only as far ahead as they are willing to announce at this point?"

    So...they're rebooting Spider-Man...again??

Ok....what about that Sinister Six film then (if that's ever going to get made). Oh, and it better not be a god-damn origin story again, ffs
