I never thought Toby was the best choice for Spider-Man personally. He just didn't fit the character in my opinion.

Andrew Garfield on the other hand looks like he'll pull it off. I'm really looking forward to this movie, especially after the latest trailer.

While I came to like Toby, the first time I saw him after they announced he was Spidey, I thought, the hell?! He looks NOTHING like Spider-Man! When they announced Garfield, I freaked. He WAS Spidey.

At the time Tobey was he best choice. He still would be the best if he was a wisecracker like Garfield.

At the time, Topher Grace was the best choice.

He's not even 34. He still is, IMO.

    Eric Forman = Peter Parker

Actually I could sort of see that now.

Too bad he had to be Eddie Brock.

Gonna be honest, web cartridges? I wish it was like in the Rami films where spidy didn't use them, but that's just a minor nitpick though, I'll still see the movie. :D

I don't know this for sure, but I heard that The Lizard did have a longer snout and a more reptilian look in the footage they showed at Comic-con. The leaked pictures that I saw from the event looked promising to me.

So I watched the 3D trailer of The Amazing Spider-man today, attached to Star Wars. It was pretty amazing, and I think I'll enjoy the web-slinging in 3D.

I seen the trailer as well when I went to see the SW film today and the new spiderman movie does look kind of neat though. I don't know if I will see it in theaters but who knows.

Actually I heard that the director of the film Mark Webb said that the Lizard will indeed have his iconic long snout at the end of the film. If that's true then great! It's not much but it's better then not having the long snout too.

Yeah, I definitely recall (though I can't remember where it was stated) some interview where Webb said that Lizzy would have multiple stages (or transformations) perhaps right at the very end, after Spidey foils his plans, he goes apeshit and turns into a completely savage lizard with a longer snout, I think this would be a good approach as it would please both sets of fans; the Ditko fans and the McFarlane fans

I like the idea of The Lizard metamorphising.

I'm still thinking Lizard was a bad choice for a villain. You know what would be an excellent idea for a villain? Mr.Negative. A new villain in the comics, it would already introduce him to a new generation of Spider-Man fans as the excellent villain he is.

And have Mark Shepperd [A.K.A Mr.Crowley of Supernatural] to play him.

I think I may be complaining too much, but I really don't have faith in this movie, thus far, the only member of the cast who I midly like is Emma Stone.

    But I digres.

Hehe, for a moment I thought you just made that up. Playing off of the negativity directed at the movie. :p

You're lucky. My theater didn't play The Amazing Spiderman trailer before Star Wars. Instead it had The Lorax, ParaNorman, Wrath of the Titans, and the John Carter trailers. Granted all those looked great in 3D, but the only one that I plan on seeing is John Carter. I wish we got the Spiderman trailer after hearing about how good the 3D was at that special preview event.

I think Carnage or the Hobgoblin should be the villain in the sequel. Also, does anyone else appreciate the fact that this movie is only going to have one villain. Spiderman 3 suffered from have a cluttered plot and too many villains and I think it's a good idea to just have one villain to develop.

Oh, absolutely. I was stunned that they included so many villains to SM3. The first two got along fine with just one.

And bring in Venom in Spidey 2! He needs a decent big screen treatment.

I think we've had too much Goblin these years, leave him out, use the other dudes.
Carnage, for example, is an excellent villain to use [though uninformed people would very easily say he's a "Copy of Joker"].

If Carnage come up as a villain, I don't know who they should cast, though.

I agree, but ironically, I think The Lizard is one of the few villains who works better with another villain to back him up.
