The actor is welsh but I think he's going for a well spoken english accent.

 

I was hoping that they wouldn't go for the Mario Bros. movie esque Goomba faced Lizard. Or maybe his final transformation will have a more snout-like appearance?

 

Yes they come up with some ridiculous stories of late are getting progressively worse, really both companies are.

 

Still better than ONE MORE DAY or their recent crossovers over the last 5 to 10 years. Heck in the most recent one both Bucky as Cap and Thor died. Thor still stars in his own book and Bucky is back to being Winter Solider and has a new book coming out. When the Avengers Cartoon for kids has better plots than the Avengers comics, you know something is wrong.

 

When he wore the infamous Black Costume (the alien version rather than his later fabric one) it obviously did the web creation for him.

 

Yes but that was the costume not him.

 

It doesn't look like it. There's been a few leaks of merchandise images that all pretty much show the humanoid lizard face.

I don't hate it, but I agree that it would have been cool to see him go more full lizard in appearance.

 

Whenever I think of the Lizard, the first design that comes to mind is the one from the two Spiderman games that were released on the PS1 back in the early 2000's, That was a cool design. Long snout, lab coat. Really the epitome of what I thought the Lizard should look like...

 

Ok, saw the trailer and I like that. I even laughed with Spidey's smart-ass attitude. ^^ But I still dont like the costume or Lizard concept.  

 

It looks like they nailed the tone of Spiderman perfectly from the trailers I've seen so far. Spiderman gets to be a smarta** and there will be funny moments, but it will still be a dark movie. It looks like they are trying to make the origin story really important to the overall story by including Peter's parents in the movie as well. It kinda reminds of Batman Begins.

 

So far I'm not really interested me enough to run to theatres to see it. Probably wait till video. One thing I noticed is that spidey seems to have those mechanical web spinners, and I always hated that. I like when spiderman can create his own web.

So far the only intresting thing about the movie to me is Emma Stone.  

 

When I think of the Lizard I think of Todd McFarlane's version of him.

 

I feel absolutely the same way. I like to think it's Spidey's mark I suit and that he'll upgrade when it gets trashed.

Edit: Ya know, the more I look at it, the only thing that really bugs me about the suit are those damned gloves. Make them solid red and I could live with the rest.

 

Well that's pretty much what they said they were going for.

Though when I heard that, I was worried that they'd go too dark with it and make Spidey all broody like Batman. (Which works for him.) But was happy to see in this recent trailer that he will in fact be the wisecracking web head we all know.

Yeah, I went from dreading this film, to really looking forward to it.

 

As someone who's been skeptical of the idea of a reboot since the beginning, I think the trailer was pretty good. My top criticisms would be I think they're wasting their time by retelling the origin and the costume could be better.

 

I think they're focusing on a different aspect of his origin. For instance, I don't think it has even been hinted that Uncle Ben dies in this movie.

 

Looking back, anyone think that Toby was too much of a goody two shoes Spiderman who wasn't a smartass?
