I'm just not that excited for this movie at all. There's just too much that I don't like.

I think I might like the costume more if they kept the original pattern of the original suit. They could keep the lenses, the elongated spider legs (although I think the spider on the back should've been the one from the Raimi films), the shoes, and the "hexagon" pattern, but I would've liked to see the original pattern red and blue pattern implemented.

Trust me I wouldn't be suprised if J.Jonah Jameson himself is ranting on about how not being in a reboot is a conspiracy against him by SPider Man for covering up his attacks on Web Head!:lol

Sigh, I almost forgot about Simmons being Jonah. He just played the role perfect.

Seems like a lot of the things some people are angry over are really just nitpicks. I mean I have a few of my own, but after that trailer, I think I may actually be looking forward to this more then the Avengers.

I'm happy to see that Spidey is making wisecracks. I was a little worried they were going to go too dark when they said they were trying to go for the same style as the new Batman films. But this looks like it might be a fairly decent Spiderman movie.

The Lizard looks interesting, though it does seem like they really just basically turned him into a evil Hulk. Kind of like what they did to the goblin in the Ultimate books.

Didn't Spidey make wisecracks in Raimis? I remember the one against Bonesaw(R.I.P Macho), "oh that's a cute getup, did your husband make it?"

I didn't say he didn't. My concern was as stated; I was worried he'd be too serious and gloomy in this film. But it actually looks like my fear may have been unfounded.

the trailer looked promising but my major complaints still remain, spiderman's suit is bad (too tight, bad design and kinda ugly) and the lizard has no snout and spiderman has galactus damn artificial web shooters!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still looking forward to this.

The Lizard is flat-faced...big whoop. He was like that when he first appeared in the comics anyway. I'm just glad they're going bestial Lizard with the bulk, tail and claws.

The suit doesn't bother me anymore. In fact, it looks really nice in motion. I love the gold tint on the eyes as well. They look cool to me. Plus the web shooters are awesome. That's Spidey's trademark. Plus the fact that they're mechanical and can run out at any moment gives him a realistic weakness.

Garfield seems fine as Peter so far. The bit in the car with the carjacker was actually funny, which we didn't get with Toby's Spidey, who didn't wisecrack much. I'm hoping we get more of that.

If anything, the only things that concern me are the maskless scenes. The fact that he gets unmasked in front of a ton of people by the cops, the fact that Gwen apparently finds out about Peter's secret and the fact that he's most likely gonna spend some of the final battle without his mask makes me worry that his ID's gonna either be known by a bunch of people right off the bat or that it happens but they pull the "It was too dark to see." card.

IMO, Spidey's identity shouldn't be so out in the open. I can understand him telling only Gwen, but that's about it. Maybe I'm just worrying too much.

This trailer was really good. It showed me that they're going to make this origin story much more personal for Spiderman. I'm really glad that this Spiderman is going to crack jokes. I only remember about two or three wisecracks in the entire Raimi trilogy. That's something that I really like about this so far; it's going to be a dark and gritty movie, but it also knows how to have some fun once in a while. The acting looks very good so far as well. Personally, I've liked the new suit from the very beginning, so that doesn't bug me at all. The action looks spectacular and the web swinging scenes look much better now that they're using practical effects. I didn't think the action would be quite this big yet since it's still going to be the first movie in a series, but I'm glad that they're still trying to wow us with the fight scenes and try to give us something new.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is with the suit. At a glance it is the exact same iconic suit. Its just stylized.
I can understand some not likeing the stylized additions -I really don't care for the silver shoes. -But the level of nerd rage the new suit is getting is honestly laughably absurd.

That's what he's suppose to have. He didn't have bio-web shooters till the Raimi films.

I just might get up the excitement to see this film.

Personally, I just didn't care much for the Raimi films. The second one was kinda exciting, but I just never really saw why every other person I know went nuts for the first one. I guess with a film like that, Raimi's filmmaking sensibilities just didn't gel with me. He did a decent job with Doc Ock, but his human extras are as believable as those in Nolan's Batman films. (I still call BS on that entire train-car of people in Spidey 2 not willing to expose his identity).

Btw, anyone else have trouble understanding Garfield when he told Gwen, 'your doorman's intimidating.' I ran that section over-and-over 10 times before I figured out what he said.

Here, I had no idea what he said at first, but when people started quoting it, I had to go look again
Also, does anyone know what sort of accent Dr Connors has? It sounds sort of British, but when he says "we were going to change....." it just sounds wierd

The new trailer for Spidey just moves this movie from #3 to #2 of my most anticipated movie of the summer, beating out Dark Knight Rises. I love the webshooters compare to organic shooters, Andrew Garfield is way more likeable and better at wisecracking than Tobey McGwire, and Emma Stone is 1000X hotter than Kristen Dunst. Will be going to see this at the theater for sure AND I will own the Blu Ray if it's as good as advertised.

    The trailer is focking awsome!

I just love a smartass, wisecracking Spider-Man, it makes me laugh for some reason. Must be because how they made Spider-Man stay true to his smartass self. Yup! Gotta love a funny Webhead.

Just watched the new trailer. Holy shit...
My excitement for this wasn't much. but this trailer just brought back how much I love Spiderman. Seriously, I grew up with this mo-fo. Can't wait to see him on screen again... Love the wisecracking. "You really think I'm a cop in a skintight red and blue suit?" It's awesome.

Love the trailer. Still HATE the suit.

It's just horrible. I think it's the eyes that really spoil it. They are the focal point for the whole costume and the white brings them out unlike what we have here.

I'm pretty sure he had them in the comic before Raimi films. I know he started with the artificial web shooters, but I swear they had him with bio-web shooters at one point over the years, before the movies.

Nope they were introduced after the first movie.

In the Avengers Disassembled crossover event, Spider-Man encounters an enemy called the Queen, a woman capable of controlling insects. She triggers another transformation in him: first, he grows extra eyes and hair covering his body; second, he changes into a Man-Spider-like form (however, with his human mind still intact); and finally he transforms into a giant spider. In that form, he seems to die, but instead emerges in human form, but with organic webshooters. The drawings make it look like he gives birth to himself, really lame story, but was basically done just so he could get organic webshooters.
